Where were you during the great Hankook Ventus R-S4 shortage of 2024? Staying home and stockpiling? Running other brands? Squeezing one more track day out of that two-year-old set? Or were you desperately chasing tires like we were?
If this is all Greek to you, here's some history: Earlie…
Should have asked Andy if you could borrow some of his 15x9 Kogekis :) Flow formed. Enormous brake clearance. Built to a 550 kg load rating instead of the usual 500. $180 shipped. Built specifically for track Miatas.

Using tacomaworld wheel/tire calculator, we've tested several wheel tire combos to see which would be best for the van. We were not happy with the calculations we were getting with 16, 17 or 18 inch wheels and complementing tires. According to the calculator, the fuel economy and horse power difference based on the rim size was not in a ranger we preferred. The end result was that we elected to go with a 19''x8.5 ET40 wheel with a 245/40/r19 tire. One thing thats made this combo possible is that we're running an 8 speed transmission. The van will not win any drag races and it doesn't leap from the starting gate, but gains speed over time and can handle corners better than most other vans of the same design. we're not seeing any abnormal tire wear even with a factory set rear wheel camber as this is our second set of tires on the van in four years.. Current warranty on the tires is 50K. With the first set we made it to 48K and still have some great treat life left.
