nah, you buy an F20 apparently......FWIW, I think its the intake and cams that are the biggest problem on the M42/44 when stock. You can just do alot more to the M42 for less. Even the DASC kits made next to nothing for power.

That is the S42B20, a 2.0L version of the M42 with 8 injectors, dry sump, special motorsport-only head (stratospheric compression ratio?), ITBs and all sorts of magic to get 315hp for the '97 STW season.
One might infer that it bears no resemblance to the parts bucket OBDII motor we got here excepting for having 4 holes in the block.
neither did the racing going S14. But the standard S14 is well revered. I am just saying that in race trim, the M42 can be one hell of an engine
There's always astronomically expensive hartge(IIRC) stroker kits available for the m42 at least.....I never understood the point. Boost the berkeley out of it and laugh when it pops.
I'll be putting a small displacement v8 in my ti if I blow both m42's up. It'll be a good excuse for me to buy a tig welder, as I'll have to fab an intake and itbs.
