I am online looking at listings for "First Gen" Dodge pickups waaay too much.
And when I do, I invariably end up Photodropping them. But I have no idea why.
I usually keep this sickness to myself, but I felt the need to post up my most recent quick-and-nasty drop to FB, and Wally helped me to understand why I have such an attraction to utility bed Dodges, and why I wanted to add the light bar off my parts truck to the lastest one.
Of course I lowered that one, as well.
I may not be getting better, but at least I know why.
Just 20 more years of this therapy, and I probably won't be having these urges anymore.
Seeing just the first picture in the posting, the first thing that came to mind was Squad 51.
I had an '81 with the 225 six and four speed, lotta fun. We used to get those at work in crew cab layout for Gov't Auction; usually went for ~$1000.
I thought 1957 was the first Gen of the D series. (this is a Sweptside)

That's why I said "First Gen"
No one can stop the rising tide of flat bill wearing bros. Witness the term "body dropped".
Lawd Gawd I hope dropped utility beds is the next trend. That second one is AWESOME.
I posted this one on the enablers group for you.
We're here to help.
Wish I had a pic of the dropped yellow crew cab dually! Just looks bigger'n meaner.

They are referring to the first generation of dodge trucks to have a cummins diesel, but now it has gotten applied to all of them.
Ive been lusting for a bagged service body for a minute.
Please make mine a mid 60s d300 though. Dually while im being pickey. In teal. With white trim and wheels.
Based on how E36 M3ty those trucks were, most of them are already lowered, through bent frames and broken springs.
Hi, my name is Curtis and I'm addicted to photoshops of lowered trucks.

BTW- all of the last set are Photodrops of current vehicles I own, except for the last one, which I really want to own, but the FB Marketplace listing is a year old.
Your shops make me badly want a whatever that generation dodge is called ramptruck.
That boxtruck is fantastic.

Most of my personal truck 'drops are supposed to be believable, so that I can get an idea what they would look like using them day-to-day. I really don't want to cut up the beds on my pickups.
But I really want to slam a box truck or utility truck, so I can use it to move furniture for my business. I really like the idea of just taking two steps up to get a dresser inside, and modifying the wheelwells/floors doesn't bother me as much being wood/flat metal.
This popped up on my local craigslist. Seems appropriate here.

Funny you should mention that.
Ever since I saw Cotton Owens' D700 ramptruck for sale 5 years ago, I have been wanting to build a MDT Dodge hauler with more room inside, but with more low.
I have gotten as far as buying another cab (crewcab, instead of Club Cab) and a set of doors, but haven't been able to line up a ramp bed and a MDT front end. I also would want it to sit more like a light duty pickup, but with the big front end.
The '68-72 Chevy/GMC pulls off this look very well, but I would have a bit more work to do to make it look right. On the plus side, I don't have to make a non-existent door on the driver's side to make a crew cab out of a Suburban.
