Hot Seat Cupra wagon

I wish we got fast wagons. When was the last time there was a go fast wagon sold in the states that wasn't a Subaru?

FWD or RWD?

I read that you have to special order a new E63 AMG wagon, those are pretty fast. You're forgetting that wagons aren't cool (according to mainstream buyers), so people don't want to buy them. People barely want to buy hatchbacks, either.

I am aware that the general population thinks wagons are uncool. My brother makes sure to remind me of this whenever he rides in mine.

We got the CTSv. Everything else is irrelevant.

Sheeple are very uncool...yet we continue to make them in record quantities. Go figure.

Volvo, Cadillac, Mercedes, all had fast wagons in recent years.

Also liking wagons is for hipsters (who like them because they are uncool) or people who compromise with their wife but need to convince themselves that they chose their car.

My dream wagon.

With wagons the boxier the better. Only Volvo today stays true to the wagon.

MOST brothers are uncool. Most brothers are honestly pretty much fools; there's just NO place for them. Probably why leaders in the past ALWAYS killed their siblings and cleared the way for their first born to inherit.

Ha. I love my brothers. Just don't always like them.

Random observation. I drive an old Escort wagon. 2nd gen Escorts aren't common here in Michigan as most have disintegrated. When do see another 2nd gen it's almost always a wagon. I wonder why that is.

Do you want to PAY for it though? I was talking to a colleague yesterday in England. I was bitching how every time I price out a new Mustang GT how I want it, it comes out to $40K and I can't imagine dropping that much coin on a car. He laughed, he's in London and pointed out that his Focus ST Wagon stickers for close to $45K!!! Makes the Mustang look cheap.

I don't know if your cutoff for "fast" would include the IS300 Sportcross or Lancer Ralliart wagon-thing or 3/5-series BMWs (BMW made 540i wagons too) or Audi S4 and S6 Avants or Magnum R/Ts...

...but if a CTS-V Wagon doesn't count as "fast" for you, then you live in a far, far more interesting world than I can fathom

When they've been available they've been expensive and they've not sold well. Take a regular car and make it fast, it's more expensive. Now take a regular car and make it a wagon, it's more expensive. Now go make a fast wagon and nobody wants to pay the double expensive part. Not too many people anyway.

I'm thinking about specific performance version cars offered as wagons. Like Subaru has the WRX and STi, Mercedes has AMG, and etc

Ralliart Sportback is on my "want that so hard" list ever since I saw a black one up close

Should count since it is kinda, sorta meant to be the modern incarnation of this:

They were standard Ralliarts but in wagon form. But you could get the twin clutch transmission, which would require you get an MR model if you wanted an Evo, so that is a plus.

I kind-of get what you are saying now, but if you look, wagon forms of many cars are scarce, special performance versions of cars are also scarce, so the intersection of the two is going to be that much more scarce. There's no such thing as a Mustang wagon (YET).

You may have to hunt, but they did make early WRX wagons, and performance hatchbacks are a good substitute.

It is. They only made something like 1400 of them. Somewhere between 400 and 500 with a proper transmission. You should buy one.
The point stands though, these were Corvette money. Hell, they were Escalade money, and almost nobody bought them.

It's not that you could get them with DCT. It was mandatory. One of the most unfortunate things about it I could live with it but it doesn't have the S Sport feature of the Evo X. It's heavier. Its AWD system isn't as good. It's way down on power compared to a WRX. Keep in mind that WRX power is underrated.

One thing I don't get about it is that it's supposed to be the cheap Evo yet it comes with an expensive to maintain transmission. It also feels very sluggish compared to a WRX. Like driving a smaller SUV or something.

WRX Hatch meanwhile you have a regular manual, makes the same WHP as a STI, is 3100lbs vs 3600lbs, and has more hatch space by like 5 cubic feet if not more.
