So (seems like nowadays everyone starts a sentence with "So") I get a call from an ex with whom our parting wasn't pleasant. I recognize the number and think wtf, but answer anyway.
Me: And you are calling me because?
She: Hey...um hi, how are you doing?
Me: What's up?
She: Just wanted to say hi and see how you are doing.
Me: Riiiight. Last chance, what's up?
She: So, do you still hang out on that message board with the really smart car guys?
Me: Yup.
She: My BMW is acting funny and I was wondering if you might ask them something for me.
Me: You have a BMW? Does this mean you have a job?
She: It's like when I stop it jolts a little, kinda like someone slightly rear ended me. It only does it when I am coming to a stop. The dealer says it might need a transmission, but I think that's crap. It rides fine other than that. Could you ask your friends what the problem is?
Me: You have a BMW? What year?
She: 2007, 325. Listen, can you just ask them please? And if I need a transmission, can you help me find one?
Me: Why don' t you ask the guy who is paying for your car to do that?
She: He doesn't know anything about cars.
Me: I'll ask, but you'll have to sort it out yourself.
She: You could help me if you wanted to.
Me: So what does that tell you? Talk to you later. Click.
So, that's how that went. If I sounded slightly bitter, I might be. Anybody have a clue what she is talking about? Thanks for listening and for any help you may be able to offer.

She's talking about wasting your time, money, and energy.
Don't answer the phone next time she calls.

Sounds like her transmission is broken. A BMW dealer would be the best place for her to buy one.
Pres589,
Yea, that's what I'm thinking.
Oldtin,
Lol, The BMW dealer would be the best place for her guy to buy one.

Sounds like her blinker fluid may be low, she should get it checked out.

It might be the blinker fluid reservoir, if that is bad the whole car is a loss... They should prolly just sell it for scrap if that's the case
Exhaust bearings are leaking onto the brakes which caused them to warp.

I had a rear end fail that caused something similar.......but if the dealer thinks its a trans, and she is a pile of excrement in your book, if she calls back tell her we know nothing and do what the dealer says.....lol

I am slowly losing the battle to keep from reposting that "BRILLIANT!" meme again.
Her transmission is likely succumbing to the legendary BMW "lifetime fill." Sounds like you've had a lifetime fill of her. Let the dealer take care of her.

You: Okay, I asked. They said I'm better off without you. Crazy thing, hon...I already knew that.
You guys are much nicer than me.
Explain how to register here. People have an X in front of their names for a reason.
Sounds like she needs a rear end lube job.

Soda on the computer when I read that one!! Should have thought of that when we were together! Thanks guys. She hasn't called back, and I aint calling her. Fine as hell, but I couldn't afford her or deal with the attitude.
Angry Corvair:
So true in most cases, but not for this one. I would hit the ex wife before I would hit that again, and believe me, that's saying something. Just sucked my wallet dry, and was nasty about it.
You're a much nicer man than I. Last call I got like that ended with me telling them to drop dead and lose my number :)
It's also why I a certain ex's number set to a specific ring on my phone so I will not answer them on reflex.
Sounds like you are better off without her.
If she doesn't have your kid, never answer the phone when an ex calls. Man Law. It's engraved in stone somewhere.

Yep. Tell her PIITB will fix it right up.
