I just picked up one of these tonight. I'm recording my first episode this weekend.
Sweet. I'll check it out, just toss the link in. I'm lucky enough the studio is already built. Just need a good quality headset. All I have are the old ham radio operators headsets.

Sound quality is less important than comfort in this case. Make sure you get a set of cans that you can actually wear for 2 hours...
Amazon link for Blue Yeti USB mic
I picked my mic up at Guitar Center. They had it for the same price, but I also got an e-mail coupon for 20 bucks off, so out the door it was just $110. It is truly plug and play, as I was recording within 10 minutes of plugging it into the laptop. The delay was only because I hadn't already downloaded Audacity.
Adjustability and recording dynamics are pretty awesome from my limited time using it so far.
I've come up with a few more ideas. In fact, I have a full page full of segments. Anyone got any good ones for me?
Maroon, did you record your first cast?

Recorded, but not edited. I'm doing another one this weekend.
I'm trying to get 4 or 5 recorded before I start releasing them, so it might be a month or so before they get posted.
Right on. Sounds like my live slot will be Monday 6-8. I'll link it up when things go through.
Need a name for the show. Something that fits me. Funny and probably dirty sounding.
What's the status, is this a go? You keep mentioning it in different threads, but I've missed it if it's out there
I'll start live next month. I need to get two pre-recordings done before so we can become accustomed.
What would be entertaining without being live? I've got some material to get people interested and want to contribute, but not as much as I want. The podcasts will be less than two hours, while the show will fill the two slot.
The podcast will be available as soon as my producer can get it up. We'll be live on the sane site with video, live chat, and call-ins welcome. www.talkstl.com (hoping to make it not just StL based.)
I'll post a new thread when I go live. I'd love to have the support from the grassroots crowd because this is where I get many ideas.
Thom & Jeff go live at 10. It'll give you A good idea of how things run. They may be considered NSFW, but are trying to cool it down. Funny guys.

I've been told that I have a face appropriate for radio or telephone interviews, and have just finished a car project that will have a book...
Kb58, consider yourself include in the fun. We'll talk about it on the air. We record a q&a tomorrow and a show next week. They'll play before the lives show starts.
I like where this is going, and yes I would tune in or download alot of those show ideas before paying extra for speed 2 or whatever the berkely they are doing with that channel.
I have been making video shorts of my favorite twisty highways around these parts, maybe that could cross-over into a radio show . . . "kink in the road" or something provocative like that where people from reigons all over the map could clue us in on the places to get your spirited drive on.
Here, guys. Give me a like. The more likes, the more chances for adverts, the longer the show sticks around.
aargh! I clicked the link to be helpful, but it is a book of faces thing. Sorry. I don't have an account for that.
It's all good. In a few weeks the recordings will be posted on www.talkstl.com. It will also go live.
Looks like about two weeks and we should be going live. I've learned being behind the mic is not as easy as it looks.

Fixed that for ya Seriously, what have you found that's hard. Being coherent? Not saying 'Like' or 'Um' every 5 seconds??

Cameras in studio now.
Crutches are always there. Mine isn't as bad. Practicing alone it's hard to slow down and be coherent. I've got a little time to practice. Having two others in the studio will help.
Without wishing to threadjack, the first episode of my "cast" is now live. (there is some adult language, so may not be SFW).
It's just three guys sitting around bench racing for now.
In coming weeks, I have audio interviews to go live featuring the likes of Karl Ludvigsen, Graham Rahal, Jack Baldwin, Ken Lingenfelter, and Dario Franchitti. Hopefully more soon.

Checking it out now. I've been busy, so I'm still training with radio experts. They are extremely helpful with dropping the bad habits. I'll check out your cast.
You'll need to log in to post.
