Just a thought, can't you have it to where new readers/ subscribers with less than 5 posts come with a delete button? So everytime a movie zombie comes up we can just delete it?

Sounds a little too open for abuse like that, we had a thread discussing anti-canoe tactics here:

Deleting them doesn't make them go away, it just removes their crap.

I have to wonder what sort of ROI they get from making posts that last a few hours and then get deleted. Surely they can't be making money this way...?

Or do spam companies run on the South Park Underpants Gnome business model?

  1. Create a bunch of spam that moderators promptly erase.
  2. ??
  3. Profit!

They're probably not making money but they're also probably not noticing. The spam is fully automated, they just haven't noticed that one of their scripts is unproductive...which is no big deal because it's practically free to run.

Good to know, didn't mean to repeat a thread. Just thinking we could help moderate such a simple thing. Of course it could lead to deleted messages every time someone mentions miatas suck, or Chevys or fords, etc. didn't think of the abuse aspect.
