I've been riding my newer version of the funduro (2007 F650 Dakar) for a while now. It's nothing exciting but really easy to ride. Great bike for around the city. I use it to commute a lot of days. I've used it to teach a couple people to ride. I just did my annual service on it last weekend so now ready to ride some more. I need to take it down to Missouri and hit some backroads this summer for the weekend.
Enjoy it.

I'll hopefully get to take it out for a real ride this weekend. It started raining 2 hours after I got it inspected, and hasn't stopped yet.

Put about 150 miles one this so far. Unfortunately somewhere in that time, the front brake switch gave up. The wires fell off the back of the very industrial switch. Turns out it is a standard Cherry brand switch, which costs about $5. The funny part is that shipping is almost $10. Go figure, right? Still better than paying BMW $114 for it, with some wiring attached.

Yesterday I got a phone call from the lady that sold me the bike. She found the side cases, and wanted to know if I wanted them. Of course I do!

Full matching set of OEM luggage! Nice only having 1 key needed for the 6 separate locks. I also picked up the tool kit and a clymer manual she found. It was a good day!
Tomorrow I'll install the new brake switch and be able to ride it again.
That's great that she actually called you back for the cases! Guessing they're probably unobtanium now.

In reply to XLR99 (Forum Supporter) :
The seller has actually asked me to keep in touch with her about the progress of her father's motorcycle. Her contacting me to sell more things to me wasn't exactly a surprise.
They are semi difficult to find, which means expensive. These actually have a brass BMW logo on them, so even harder to find.

Well, brake switch is in and working. Of course now there has to be another problem. Bike seems ok around town, but when I get on the highway, and try to do any hard'ish acceleration, the tach will just to around 6k and I'll kind of slowly accelerate. I'm not sure if I should just run it for a while and do another oil change, or if I'm looking at a new clutch.
