The Coast Guard doesn't require the reflective vest, but get this:
Rules state that you must wear something long-sleeved, and light in color or reflective.
So I ride in with my armored denim jacket (coretech?) and this chief stops me and gives me a ration of E36 M3 for it not being reflective or "light colored". Follows it up with an email (thanks, douche!), and tells the CO that his JO's are not setting a good example.
Next guy comes in wearing a long sleeved white shirt. Can't say anything to him, because he's following the rules.
Ridiculous. 9 years left. At least we don't have to wear the orange vest. Yet.
