Picked up a new '23 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. $1000 off and .99% financing. No sense in paying cash. $6k otd.
So far, I'm pretty stoked with it. It is begging me to be a hooligan.

Thanks,never owned a v-twin anything before(long time inline 4 sport bike guy)so hopefully I like it :)
Added compression, cams and 38mm mikunis to spice it up a little to help out with the fun factor.

That's great! One local to me dealer wanted $7800 in March '21! Somewhere in this thread is the crashed 701 Vitpilen I bought and repaired instead. Love that bike.
I have a friend, Dave, who runs a shop called Bullpen Cycles in Florida. He's a big Bultaco guy and might be able to help you find some pieces. He has a bunch of videos on YouTube.
Not my bike but thought I share one I saw last night. I made a point to hang around and wait until it left, beautiful sound and lots of 2 stroke smoke

Thanks I will check him out.

Cool! I have a friend with an RG500. I've only ridden it briefly and the engine was amazing but the rest was an '80s let-down if I'm honest. The riding position was weird (to me) with bars up high, seat kind of low. It's such a shame those cool engines didn't last until the mid-90s. A few RG500-powered RGV250s have been built. Drroooool...

They are great for their time but yeah, there's a reason folks are bolting modern forks and shocks to these bikes.
I've been casually wanting to try out a full suspension bike for a while. Came across a way too good to pass up deal on this Trance 2 from a local bike shop clearing out inventory or maybe just showing off why they're in the process of declaring bankruptcy. Not my favorite color scheme but it looks decent with the green parts carried over from my old bike. I need to spend more than ten minutes setting up the cockpit but the first ride was generally promising. Also discovered it can pretty easily fit a 3.0/2.8 tire setup so it might be half decent for winter riding too...if we actually get any snow this winter.
I just cleaned up the SFV4 after an aggressive ride last week. In the background are the Africa Twin and the Z06. My garage does not suck.
Hrm, photo didn't work. Let's try this again. Foreground is the SFV4; background is the CRF1000L and Z06.

Thoes svartpiens are rad. I spent a day on one and had a blast.
I cannot wait for the berkeleying rev limiter to be gone- it's set at 7k for break in, and the power is just coming on there. 400 more miles.

114?! Man. That thing must be a very heavy rocket.
My idiot friends and I did the 24 Hours of Starvation Ridge on a 50 year old childrens toy. We finished third in the Air Cooled Challenge class (out of four), and 77th out of 164 overall.
The little Suzuki TC90 suffered zero mechanical breakdowns, but did require a fresh plug somewhere around the 12 hour mark.
Next year we'll try it on something with more than 6hp and 4" of suspension travel.

I am loving my V4SP Streetfighter. So much better to use as a daily then the 959. But I have a problem with Harley. I just love the stupid things especially the older ones.

Not everybody gets it, but not everybody has to get it. It's a big world.
Any chance you feel like showing us some more pics of the shovel and the flathead?

So the 1942 we/I think is a civilian solo sport that got modified somewhere along the line with WLD cams and a magneto and some better valves and the ubiquitous high compression heads. Its a beast for a flathead but because I have no timing control with the fixed magneto its a pain to get running and only wants to go full throttle. It likes RPM which is so weird with my previous flathead knowledge. But 25ish hp and full throttle is still a ton of fun. I did put the dual cam front brake knuckle reproduction instead of the usual WL one because when I got it it was setup with no front brake and a pedal clutch and it sucked to ride. I have the saftey rocker clutch on it and its a nice weekend bike now. Converted to 12v as well with a modern charging system.
The shovel is a weird one, the headstock is clearly reproduction but the rest of the frame appears to be OEM early panhead, the motor is a 1972 bottom end with 94ci high compression S&S barrels and some old 70's ported and semi split heads. It makes 75hp when I had it tuned and it makes it all down low. Brakes are 74/75 and the front end I have no idea. It looks like a 1972 tubes but the trees and bars are aftermarket. Kick only now as it makes to much power for the starter to get going. Paint was done on the tank by SKATCH who used to pinstripe for Chip Foose and a few others in SoCal. Its my favorite bike and its the one I would push out of the garage if I could only save one.
