I have an SE Racing Floval Flyer. About a 1984 model - 24" - loop tail. Not original color - It's yellow with splatter graphics (they looked good in 1989 when I did them!) It is in decent shape - still has some shed dust and surface corrosion on the SE cruiser bars.

What do you think it's worth?

I've seen Quad-angles on Ebay for over a grand - they were perfectly restored and period corrrect, however.

Cool bike, but since it has been repainted, its probably worth more in parts.

$600 to $650

I've still got my 20inch Race Inc. cromo bike. Bought it when i was 9 with my paper route money. I know every part on it and it still looks mint. even after 31 years....

In reply to 44Dwarf:

Thanks for the appraisal. I'm not really looking to sell. My 13 Y.O. son likes riding it too much. That and i'm really digging riding it - It makes me all nostalgic.

Ya I hear you. A guy on my dirt bike page had an add looking for vintage BMX bikes. so i hauled mine down from the rafters and washed off the dust and waxed it up. pumped up the tires and one "snake belly" let go at the side wall.

Guy called me and offered $100 i told him no..now he keeps e-mailing me about the diffrent bikes he's got and what there worth.... Hell I know the frame and fork cost me $350 and i hadf to wait 6 months for them to come in...The poor guy at the bike shop...i'd call every day. is it here yet! Guy was cool i think he gave me all the other parts at cost cause i rode out of the shop for $450. My mom was shocked at 9 I'd spend all my money for a bike.. Raced it for two years then it became a mode of transportation.

A bike that I always regretted selling was a Powerlite 26" BMZ cruiser. I bought the frame for $50 from the trunk of the dear departed Steve Nachman; a bike parts sales rep who plied the mid-Atlantic region from the late 70's through the 90s. It was built up w/ all red stuff: Tuff Neck, Sunshine hubs, Araya 7X rims, Dia Compe brakes, you know. All that stuff.

I sold it along with a spectacular individual pursuit specific chrome Cinelli track bike that had been used by the Italian olympic team in 1976 to buy a brand new custom Ludwig maple superclassic drum set in 1982. I didn't regret the sale 'til years later.

I started idly looking at 26" cruisers maybe 5 years ago. They'd already gotten pretty expensive by then. OM flyers, SEs, all well over $1k.

Then one day I was talking with an old bike shop associate from back in the day and mentioned for him to keep his eyes open for a '26. "How about my GT?" he said.

I ended up swapping a 1/2 a van full of SOHC Honda CB750 stuff. 1 bike and a heap of parts. I'd paid maybe $250 for the lot.

The GT cleaned up beautifully. It's got OMAS high flange hubs, black Ukai rims, and a 180mm Campagnolo Nuovo Record crankset. I don't ride it alot, but it makes me smile everytime I see it.

Yes I'll post pics later....
