That's great info - thanks! Your DHF is actually about 200g lighter that I expected.
I talked to the shop owner last night. He's going to re-mount the used Ikons that were on it when I test rode it & I'll see if they hold up for me. I sure like the way it felt around town on them, and he didn't have any trouble trail riding with them, so we'll see. If they do hold up I'll just buy a new set from him.

For what it's worth, my Maxxis Minion DHF were super heavy (in 26 inch form)

Currently has Stan's Raven tires mounted
I wanted a 29er with boot spacing and thru axels so, you know, I spent $4287, lol.
Edit: apparently it's manufactured like this to help guide the chain over the wide cassette!
Well apparently I bent my derailleur somehow. :-/
I must have run over something on trail the previous weekend, because it sounded a bit off all of last week. A new one is $118 so not cheap, but not horrible. I'm going to straighten this one as best as I can & send it for now.
I finally got off my ass & ordered a pair of 29x2.60 Maxxis Ikon tires. Hopefully they'll be in next week so I'll have some time to ride them before we head to Colorado.
The Ikons arrived & were mounted today. I hope it dries out enough tonight to go for a ride & see how they feel, plus get them scrubbed in a bit before our trip.
I did do a quick bunnyhop in the driveway & the front end is noticeably lighter.
