It's a great truck. Probably the best truck Ford ever built.
I don't personally ever want a King Ranch (too ostentatious), but lots of folks like 'em. It's their top trim level.
I have a '99 7.3L. Serious workhorse. The 7.3L is the most reliable engine they ever built, but it is dated, noisy, dirty, and underpowered.
The 6.0L is a dog.
The 6.4L is more modern, more powerful, and cleaner.
The 6.7L is more powerful, but is over designed. It's too much tech, and repairs are twitchy and expensive.
Not sure about the price tag.

I know you have a lot more real info on this than me, but I have been working at a dealership for several months, and I don't think you can buy a new King Ranch F250 for $60K. Every one that has been in the lot is WAAY north of $70K.
Regarding the 6.0L, I agree that they can be made good. The problem is a combination of the age vs the issues. Ford never issued a full recall on these trucks, so repair was on the owner. The newest 6.0L is now 8 years old. That means they are 150K or so. They ALL needed to be bullet-proofed. Some of them never were (most of which have now failed), some of them were done poorly, some were done well.
It's a total guess whether the truck you are buying is bullet proofed well or not.
Additionally, the 6. 0L was Ford's first step into more advanced electronics. Some of it was just not ready for prime time.
Having watched a dealership for 4 months, I can tell you that 6.0's outnumber other versions coming in for repair by a factor of 3 or 4X.
Part of that, of course, is they are just the right age to be needing attention. But I've had extensive conversations with the diesel techs (because I am considering buying one), and the 6.0L is the first one they recommend against buying. The 6.7L is the 2nd.
Thanks guys, It's not going to be a home depot runner. It will be a dd and I will use it to run to Oklahoma from Denver 2 or 3 times a month hence why I want the king ranch.
33K for a 09 is nuts to me with that mileage. Your looking at a good 5-7K in maintenance coming up soon.
Local but lower mileage and bet you could get it sub 28K out ere in California but gas is 4.00 give or take.

Oklahoma? Isn't that where the wind comes sweeping down the plains?

So, $32999 is less than $33K??

Ask on a truck in SoCal is always higher then the actual selling price. Plus lower miles by 30K.

Who says he can't negotiate the original post?
There is no substantive difference on a diesel between 78K and 108K. I can't call one overpriced while calling the other a bargain.
