Tried my cage skills on my XJ

I normally do car cages but I decided to try some tube bumpers on my '98 Jeep XJ. We'll see how well they hold up after some off road adventures...

looks good, how much time does something like that take to Fab up?

This makes me wish I had bender dies for something other than 1.5 and 1.75 DOM tubing.

Uhh.... would you sell that front and rear bumper setup?

WAY TOO MUCH! Actually most of the time was in the design. I only wanted to do it once.

It's all 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 pieces I had left over from cage projects. All I have are the same dies.

I built the rack and ladder last year out of 7/8 x .083. The floor of the rack is triangulated tube with .090 aluminum for heat reflection. We've had 4 adults up there with a cooler and a couple of chairs watching a race.

Got yourself a nice jeep there.
Looks to be tastefully modified, well executed.

I'd be all over similar treatment to a two-door.

Those are for limb risers. They are steel cables that go up to the roof rack to guide branches up and over the roof. They save the windshield.

Thats exactly the type of roof rack I want for my suburban, all the over the counter baskets are 1/3 the size of the roof. I want one for the whole roof. You got a top down pic on that? Its giving me some good ideas.

Did you make sliders too?

I did not take any top down pics during the build. The floor is covered with .090" aluminum for heat reflection, so you can't see much.

I made the sliders a couple of years ago. Like the bumpers, I used left over tube from roll cages for the sliders.
