I dislike all the events that are judged instead of timed. Even ski jumping includes 60 style points per jump - WTF? Who cares what they look like and whether or not they are calm in the air. The winner should be the one that goes the farthest. It looks like they use the style points to try to even out jumps made under differing wind conditions.

Slopestyle should be in the X games only. It is like drifting is to racing.

That's boring the snowboarding and stuff is the best part of the Olympics.

Agreed, I really am not into judged competitions. Except women's figure skating of course.

Men's should have been shown yesterday. It was yesterday.... one of my pet-peeves about NBC's coverage. I saw it covered twice on CBC.

I'm so confused. Is there somewhere that shows when things will be covered and on what channel? All i've been able to find so far is figure skating. I want to see people with big balls fly down mountains.

If you can watch it during the day on MSNBC and/or CNBC, then the prime time coverage on NBC is 100% reruns, except that they used higher priced commentators. For instance, they replace Johnny Wier and Tara Lipinski with Scotty Hamilton and some old NBC standby guy.

I caught a little women's curling today. Why is there a women's and a men's curling? Isn't that one sport where the sexes could conceivably compete on even terms? Maybe the men can push those little brooms a little harder?

No clue... But curling is one of the most hypnotic Olympic sports... Right next to ping pong and badminton. Serious.

First off this is a joke.

My wife was commenting on the olympic events that women didn't have till this year.

Curling was a recent add.

I said "I can't believe it took so long for curling to be a woman's sport! I mean it is sliding what looks to be a big puck and sweeping, lots of sweeping. I figured women would dominate this sport! Look at how well those girls sweep."

She says "I know right, I don't know why they think woman can't do this, (she was very serious.)"

So sexiest comment my wife agreed with and I am not sleeping on the couch.

Gold for me!

Women's curling should be them sliding a pan towards an oven top. Higher points awarded for landing on the smaller burners. And the brooms should be swiffers

What, and men can dominate the "farting-into-a-lazy-boy-while-reaching-for-a-beer-and-the-channel-changer?

I'm a big fan of Biathlon. I can't imagine the kind of control it takes to settle yourself for those five shots after exerting yourself so hard.

This is the first time I've noticed that the target for prone shooting is smaller than the one for standing. Makes sense, though.

Ugh, shooting standing sucks anyways. I always assumed I would miss those five shots at rifle qualifying in the USMC. My technique was to figure 8 the muzzle slightly and break the "slow, steady squeeze" commandment. I could only imagine how much I would suck immediately after doing cardio.
