Easily Goff's worst game as a Lion, but he overcame it in the end. An ugly win is still a win!
the bears are the only team that can play so well for 55 minutes only to play soo poorly in the last 5 minutes to give up 3 scores...
as a bears fan we can only hope that when ben johnson is our headcoach next season he is better than eberflues.
Matt Canada has been relieved of his duties as the OC for the Steelers. The IC Light will flow like water in the 'burgh tonight.

The bears have never fired a head coach mid-season and we have a history of doing everything backwards (trade away draft picks to get a new franchise QB only to fire the entire front office the next season, etc.)

They should probably consider drafting a QB. I am Browns fan and the 1st game this year against the steelers was won by the Defense and DW throwing and handing the ball to the steelers. Pickett is not even close to the talent of Big Ben, year 2 I think they know what he is. However will see who they get as a O-cord

You forgot the part where they work hard to ruin the QB before he has a chance to develop. Justin Fields probably has the talent to be a top 10 QB, but I think they've ruined him before he had a chance to get there.
But how can you tell when everything else is a dumpster fire?

I'd love to see someone do a serious statistical analysis of the front office performance of every NFL team for the Superbowl era. Anyone here swim in the Operations Research pool...?

i am not a fields fan, while I have warmed to him a bit this season I looked at Ryan Pace's previous QB "answers" (Mitch, Glennon, Foles, Dalton) and believed he didn't know how to evaluate QB talent. He has never lead a game winning drive, he hasn't stayed healthy for an entire season, and while he is athletically gifted he does struggle as a pocket passer. Finally, I don't think the bears should have allowed Pace to give up draft capital in the last year of his contract when most believed he wasn't going to come back.
here is an interesting stat for Chicago sports fans, in 2023 only one team has a winning record at home (the cubs) every other team has a losing record at home :( that means if you spend the $$$ to go see a sporting event in Chicago you have a better than 50% chance you will leave having watched your team lose...

the Bears have had to fire 2 coaches this year for "conduct unbecoming" and one of them involved the FBI getting access to his home/office for an investigation... If the NFL had relegation like English premier league we would be playing Division II college teams.

On the coaches firing... everyone says, without any exception, that the Bears are one of the best organizations to work for. They're loyal to a huge fault. The fact that this has happened, twice, is embarrassing. I'm not sure if I blame Eberflus, Poles, or Warren (or the McCaskey family) but they all need to go.
At least the Blackhawks have Bedard to watch and the Cubs look like they're in for a promising year.

I'm not optimistic of Green Bay's chances today, but I fantasize about them replacing Aaron Jones with their practice squad OL Caleb Jones in short yardage situations.
He's 6' 9" 370.

Well, I guess the Pack came to play. Too bad I can't post "neener, neener, neener" here.
Dolly didn't look super healthy, she was holding onto the stage a lot
Also, rock music isn't a strong suit for her IMO

For 77, I thought she was amazing. A damn sight better than Jack Harlow, for sure.
And both were better than the Lions were today. This loss has been coming for a few weeks. The defense has been dog doo for more than a month, and Goff has started looking shaky lately. They got lucky last week against Chicago, but today it caught up to them. At least they have a long week to try and fix whatever is wrong.

Don't get me wrong, she's doing fine for 77 but still.....I don't think she's all that healthy.
The rock covers album she just released is ....not great too

It is possible that it is time for a change. But that sounds like one of the dumber ideas I have heard.
I hope they do fire him, so the Bears have a shot at hiring him. But that is so extremely unlikely that it is rather foolish to even consider the hypothetical.

The problem with the da Bears won't be solved until the owners fire themselves. Either that, or they copy the Detroit playbook.

Still want to follow the Detroit playbook?
If you'd told me a month ago we'd be swept by the Bears, I'd have thought you were crazy. The defense has always been iffy, but now it's just plain terrible. And Goff seems to have turned back into a pumpkin. I don't know if it's mental or if he's banged up and it's affecting his mechanics or something. At this point, it's entirely possible that they piss away a 3-game lead and lose the division. Which would be such a Lions thing to have happen, I pretty much expect it.
I feel for you, Spangler. At this point I've given up on the Raiduhs, but between them and Cal Football, "Long suffering" is a familiar term.
Fortunately, I've been able to jump back on the Niners bandwagon!

This season is the first sign of life in the franchise since Barry Sanders and they're leading the Division, so yeah, I'd still call them worthy of emulation. It's their division to lose at this point. I keep threatening to place a $20 bet in Vegas for a Detroit/Cleveland Superbowl and it's looking like that actually could happen before I tip over. I wonder what the odds on that bet might be...

I'm betting that most Lions fans are "ready" for a collapse. Btdt. The D has been thin on backs all season, and the rush has been slowed a little- enough that the pass D holes are easy to expose. What's really sad is that the D isn't that much different- previously holding the other team to under 30 would win most games. Now that other teams have seen how to slow the offense down, scoring even 20 has gotten really hard.
We will see how brilliant the OC is now.

Oh, don't get me wrong, after all the crap I've received in my Facebook feed crowing about how well the Lions have done this year, a great big serving of schadenfreude would be pretty tasty, but it doesn't negate their season so far. Let's see how the coaching staff responds.
Things could be worse. You could be a Panthers fan.
