I know this forum is real down on hooning on the streets, does it make it any better that they were trying to do it in an out of the way place?

Guess the "old farts" at GRM win, eh?

Wonder if they'll seize the profits from old Yusef Islam there's blockbuster movies.

For a bunch of internet tough-guys, it looks like jail is going to be an unfun experience for them.
I'll take the chubby one.
Oh sweet baby Allah, it just keeps getting better. Can someone print this out and drop it off at the Alachua County Jail for Muhammed?

May you be Baby Jesus or the Holy Son of Allah if you have never, ever, ever violated a single traffic law, or been in a crash / fender bender. Good luck stopping your dreaded "Street Racing". People have been street racing with incredibly high percentages of crash-free success since the 2nd car ever was built. I love street racing performed in a safe, crash-free manner and think more people should appreciate it on a wider scale; so back off on this topic.
Funny. I saw the topic title and logged in to say that it was probably IMV films.

Obviously, it was. I remember when they came here to trash talk and had the thread locked.....
[EDIT: This thread has been dead for months. IMV films restarted it on 4-17-2011.]

My wife read that, and asked me, are these the guys you hang out with?
Teqnyck wrote: Staying out of the ditch woulda been good
Looking at the pictures, they don't look like they'd recognise that sort of m4d skillz, yo!
Mind you, I nearly ended up in the ditch a couple of times when I was young and stupid, too...
Booking photos are the worst. You can have no criminal history at all, but your booking photo will make you look like total trash, even if they look a wimpy.
Hah! Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of idiots. IIRC, on the first thread (the one that got deleted) with the IMV morons, one of them said the only reason I didn't like street racing because I was old and couldn't keep up with them in my "..POS Corrado..". Every word I said about not killing people & making the civilians hate racing went right over his head. At least they got busted before they killed somebody.
Clearly IMV films have profited from sales of videos that show them engaging in illegal activity. I wonder if that constitutes a criminal conspiracy.

I've been wondering about that m'self. Does the Alachua County Sheriff's Dept. even know about the videos?
And I gotta agree with Zombie woof as well (hell, it was actually part of my attempt to be charitable to the IMV morons when they were posting here). People who are not "car people" will hold this over our collective head. I hope this crap doesn't cause Suddard the Younger any trouble when he goes to pick up his girl..wasn't there a thread in the last couple of months where Tom was talking about that kind of thing among his friends' parents?
In reply to IMVFilms:
It looks like they had a pretty piss poor case against you and you had decent attorneys. Be cautious though, cops generally don't like loosing and you guys do enough actual illegal things on the road that they will be looking for ANY missteps.
NickF40 wrote: The Fast and The Furious? I wish I would have seen the first thread......
You didn't miss much. Except for the finest example of asshattery I've ever seen on a forum that isn't about religion or politics.
EDIT: Yeah, I know we discuss both on the OT forum over here, but people seem to respect each other (for the most part) because of our common passion. In that thread, there was no such respect or restraint.
wow, worse than VWVortex?? it must have been BAD
sounds like it got bad though quick with you guys vs them, but yeah I agree with you for sure

A bobcostas provides a link to a blog supporting some azzhats questionable actions. Que' surprise.
Sorry, IMV guys, but please get back to us when you have something more entertaining than clips of a Mummers Parade.

Yep, and it's getting worse all the time. It's gotten to the point where I say something like
"Look, I've had more driver training than most other people in America, most likely including you. I regularly go to the racetrack to practice controlling my car if/when something does go wrong, as well as to let out any pent-up desire for speed I may have. Many of the skills necessary for racing are not just helpful, but I believe necessary for street driving. I believe being competent behind the wheel is a much better insurance policy than fluffy pillows in the dash. I've built up my car myself, and have the highest level of respect for it. I don't participate in any street racing, or any other illegal activities. I've logged more than XXX miles in all kinds of conditions, in all types of cars. If you'd like to evaluate my driving, I'd be happy to take you for a ride."
80% of parents are okay with me driving after this, 10% go for a test drive with me (and are always impressed), and 10% are so completely repelled by the idea of racing that they look at me like I'm a roach.
I even had one father that at first was completely against even the idea of me driving. Then he rode with me a few times, and at this point if I don't have my car with me, he tosses me (not his kid!) the keys to his new Mercedes and says "go have fun."
This thread reminded me of this song:

Tom, hate to hear that your friends' parents are so full of BMW E36 M3..but glad to hear that you've found a way to chill them out. I sure wish I'd been as calm & calculating as you are when I was your age. Man, I really hate to be the "old guy" bitching about what he coulda/shoulda done back then, but I fully respect you for trying to defend our tribe in front of those folks.
NickF40 wrote: wow, worse than VWVortex?? it must have been BAD
Oh, yeah. (sez the guy who used to live on the vortex).
NickF40 wrote: sounds like it got bad though quick with you guys vs them, but yeah I agree with you for sure
That was why it was so crazy! Most of us tried to be polite..and got "YU DUM Bob Costas DON'T NO WHUT RACIN'GS REELEE ABOUT" from the IMV folks. It was insane, dude.
haha yeah, I used to camp out on Vortex myself
wow, but yeah, most don't understand us anyway Yeah, and they knew ALL about racing...surrrre lol
