We will hit 35 years next.
Our first anniversary, we were flat broke so I gave her one rose. The next year it was 2, then 3. About year 5, we had more money so I did something different. Boy was that a mistake. Little did I know that I had started a tradition of buying a rose for every year we have been married. It's now becoming a problem finding that many roses in one color in any one store. Last anniversary they were 3 different colors.
Congrats and good for you two for sticking it out! With divorce rates what they are, it's nice to hear that two folks dug their heels in and put in the work to make a relationship survive life's up and downs.
Happy anniversary and keep 'em coming!
I understand that if you can't afford to keep her, you can't afford to divorce her.
I've never researched it however.....
Congratulations, I was in high school hoping to get to 2nd base some day.
My bride and I passed 28 years this Spring so there’s hope for me yet!
We are exactly 4 weeks away from 37. Rarely take time to observe our anniversary: Started the magazine right after our first one, have never paused long enough really to mark time's passing. It's been a ride.

edi: fixed the anniversary. It's 37, not 32. I was not kidding about rarely taking the time--we celebrated at least the first 5 on the wrong day. Then I found one of our wedding invites. To this day we have 2 dates--"observed" and "actual." E36 M3 if I know which is which.
Congratulations. That shows a lot of commitment.
We celebrate 34 years this Sunday. When people ask us how long we've been married, I tell them 66 years, since we've each been married 33.
In reply to Marjorie Suddard :
That's why I convinced my bride to get married on Valentine's Day. I won't forget that day.

Sept. 1, 1984.....labor day ......and we've never had a fight..... after having met on a blind date at the 24 hrs of Daytona in 1981....woof it's been awhile
2 Oct will be 39 years for me and SWMBO.
But she's #2 for me. 1st one was very short, only 3 years and were separated (mainly distance but legally for some of it) for about half that. Was military and between being gone for training and an overseas assignment didn't fair well for the marriage. She found someone else and then decided to divorce me. Oh well, led to me finding the current one that's a keeper and she's on #5.
Oh and congrats!!
