No, not another kid. That would take a miracle. Because of how bad 2020 sucks, our beloved pit/lab mix Cole got very sick all of the sudden and we had to put him down unexpectedly. The doctors said it was most likely cancer causing the problem, the sack around his heart was filling with fluid and it was failing. He was 12 but we felt we had a few more years left because he was in excellent health until the day he died. RIP buddy, I miss you every day

We had actually been searching for a while planning to get a companion for Cole to ease the transition when he did pass.  We had been a two-dog family for many years, but not for the last five or six. When Cole passed we felt we might go without a dog for a while and enjoy the freedom it affords, but there was a big hole in our home and we knew we needed another doggo.

Covid has made the process much more difficult, dogs are in high demand and it's difficult to meet many dogs to find one that you connect with. After much searching, I came across this photo and somehow I knew the personality was a fit for us.

We inquired but the dog had other interviews ahead of us. Luckily, the other families had existing dogs in the home who decided they did not want a roommate. Nothing wrong with this gentle boy, it was the other dogs being selfish. Yay for us! We got his background, he was transferred from a high kill shelter in Memphis Tennessee and not much else. He's a one-year-old pit/mountain Cur mix.  (Probably. maybe)  He is up-to-date on all shots, no health issues, house trained, great with kids and other dogs.

He needs some work to leave the cat alone but is coming along nicely. Meet Cody.

Congrats on addition of Cody.

Sorry to hear of Cole.

I have a Milo and a Charlie. Last year (7 year old Milo), was hit by a kid doing 55mph in a 25mph. Going to bury him - one of the hardest thing we had to do.   We haven't had the heart to find a "replacement" They say time heals all wounds... I am still hoping. Was a great dog. RIP Milo.

Awesome!  Glad you've come to an arrangement that meets both parties' goals!
