that is awesome. You have to have respect for someone like that. So full of life even though most at her age have sort of given up. That kind of drive and attitude of being able to do what you want regardless of age i think is key to living a long life.
good for her. My late Great Grandmother had a similer Comet (I think older) that she felt the same way about. Every summer she would drive up from Ft Lauderdale (to NJ) and spend the summes with us, and then drive back in the fall.
When she turned 91.. my Grandmother and great aunt convinced her to stop driving. 6 months later, she was riding her bicycle to the store and got hit my a 70something man who did not see her.. a month later, she was dead.
hey is there any chance we can get her into the zine...that is what you call a very cool car person....still has the same car and it has out lasted sevral husbands....thats cool.... if she had to chose between the car and the hubby...the car wins out....
Extreme coolness. They didn't show too much of the interior, but I think it's cleaner at 540K than my VW at 225. And is that an old AAA Club badge on the grille?
That's a great story. I recently crewed for a guy that's 83 and is still racing. He's raced the same Bug Eye Sprite for the last 30 years, and the SOB is faster than I am.
