And 4 wheel drum brakes, right?

For some reason, I have a feeling that values on these old Mercs are going to climb nicely over the next few years. If nothing else, I doubt you'd lose money on it.

That's kind of my thinking. I could pick up a nice W108, drive it, enjoy it, and have it at least not lose money.
Plus, I mean...look at it.

Yeah, they're, what, like 197hp or something. On paper, they seem pretty awesome.
I just couldn't stand to look at it. Or deal with that berkeleying touchscreen. And every new car has them. Well, just about.

I'd say those are the big hitters on my "want list". Name me a car that hits them all. I dare you. Hint: anything made after around 1972 is probably going to miss in the styling department.
I'll be bold........
Hits all the marks stated... plus can carry a great deal if needed too
damn.... thought I read 4 wheel disc brakes....

I haven't had nearly as many cars as most of you, but I can totally relate. Even going though cars on Craigslist, it seems that there are very few that really get me going anymore.
I think at this point, I've decided that one can't do it all (after owning a few station wagons and using a Tahoe for awhile). I got a cheap older Silverado for that purpose, and another car (E30) for the track stuff. As a fun daily, I'm getting to the point where I think an E38 740i Sport or an E39 540i/M5 might be the happy place without being too much of a project. But I'm also definitely a BMW guy.

It's kinda neat looking, but I have to be honest...I have no idea what that is. A Toyota? A VW?
