Almost all porches are now turbocharged, making the turbo models a bit superfluous. Porsche has announced that the new electric Taycan will come in regular, S, 4S, and turbo variations.

That’s right, you can get an all electric Taycan turbo.

It's got an electric turbo. Duh.

Don't worry, Mercedes thinks a coupe has four doors now.

So do BMW, and Audi.  And don't even get me started on the whole 3-series/4-series and A4/A5 thing.

Mercedes has an SUV that has a straight 6, electric water pump, and an electric supercharger!

Weird days.

Modern Turbo motors are awesome but I'm really going to miss the naturally aspirated in the current GT3.  If for no other reason than they sound amazing.

Technically, coupe/sedan has to do with interior volume (specifically, rear-seat volume), not number of doors.

There are lots of 4 door coupes and there used to be a lot of 2 door sedans.  It's only a convenience that most 3-box cars with tiny rear seating areas are two door, and most 3 box cars with lots of rear interior room are four door.

Remember, this is America and we will define things as we see fit. 4 doors is not a coupe.

Do you know why Chicken coops only have 2 doors?

Because if they had four they would be Chicken Sedans......

It's actually the American definition I'm citing.

What is funny is C&D used to get letters to the editor all the time telling them about the "mistake" they made in listing a vehicle as a 4 door coupe.

I'd like to say the breakpoint is either 31 or 17 cubic feet of rear seat room.

Ever car guy I've ever met defines 2 door as coupe and 4 door as sedan. Every. Single. One.

Call a 4-door a coupe in the collector car world and you'll look like a fool.

The 31/17 feet of rear room is sillyness that some designer came up with to justify using a term incorrectly.

Saying a 4-door is a coupe is like the guy on craigslist with an inline v6.

We are almost to the point where someone calls their 3 cylinder economy car the "Exotic V8 Twin Turbo" for marketing purposes.  Words don't matter anymore.

I'm so perilously close to exactly what you said with my latest purchase!  I think everything except the "V8" applies.

The only thing that really bugs me is the electric oil pump. I know of at least one person that a sensor failure has caused the oil pump to not add enough volume that it wiped the #6 bearing in an N55. I'm hoping it will do me good for another year and hopefully get something new, or new to me, next fall.

It means it has a separate trunk, really. Box for the hood/nose, box for the passenger compartment, box for the trunk.
