I saw it over the weekend. If you turn your brain off, its a good movie to escape and watch car pron and hear many car noises. Cars and engine noises for dudes and Vin Diesel/Rock/all the other actors for chicks.

Here's my "evolution" with the F&F franchise. Saw the first one, rolled my eyes at stuff like the 2-minute drag race and the "Naws", but was somewhat entertained by the cool cars and pretty girls. Saw the second one and swore off the series. Fast forward about 5 years or so, and I was flipping around on cable and "Fast 5" was on. For those who don't know, the 5th one is essentially a heist movie with lots of crazy stunts and cool action. And it wasn't bad. Same for the sixth, putting aside the 30-mile runway.

Anyhow, based on word of mouth and positive reviews, I took the boy (age 14) to see it tonight. And it was pretty decent. Of course you have to suspend your disbelief, but it's a fun way to spend a couple of hours watching vehicular carnage. And the ending was very well done, I thought. Hell, I even teared up a little.

Thumbs up from me.

This is exactly what I was trying to get at. I was really impressed by seeing the film crew jump out of the aircraft after pushing the cars out. At least there's that.

Apparently at one point the plane started losing fuel and the pilot told them to dump all the cars and crew

So we did a family matinee yesterday. My wife took our daughter to see "Home", the Disney movie. I took my two boys to see FF7. My wife owes me big time. Please pass the eye bleach, pitchfork, anything. I knew there was a reason I had never gone to see the other ones. Even trying to suspend my disbelief and tell myself it was a cartoon didn't help. It's just not my thing. Given how much money it's made, it's someone's thing though.

No worries there, I disliked FF7(Final Fantasy VII) more than F7(Fast 7)....
