I cook my quinoa and amaranth in the microwave. Much simpler than the rice cooker.
I cook it in stages and stir between stages. Instructions are on the packages of both.

Rice cooker is pretty simple, pour in whatever you're cooking and water and press button
FYI - I've gone totally vegetarian and reduced my dairy intake that ~5 days of the week I'm vegan anyway. My wife, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and some friends are all vegan as well. They have a blog: http://sproutingvegans.wordpress.com/
I'm down from ~240Lbs to ~195Lbs, 38/40 waist to 36 waist, and lost so much fat I had to get my wedding ring resized.
I had a tofu wrap for lunch yesterday, along with some chickpea salad. It was positively decadent! I shudder to think of all the little tofus that gave their lives that I might eat them, to say nothing of the chickpeas.
Old thread I know, my wife and I are vegetarians. Actually more like vegans most of the time with a tiny bit of cheese now and then. I've never felt better :)
Anybody got good recipes for cold chickpea salads?
I'm on a chickpea kick, I love Chana Masala, and have been eating it non-stop lately, but need something more refreshing.
Nope, because I've been eating it premade.
I did just purchase 3 different types of pre-made and also 2 different types of spice mixes. I tried to find amchoor powder as I heard it was the "missing ingredient" to many recipes, but the pre-made dishes don't mention it. Apparently amchoor powder is green mango that have been dried and powdered.
