Very cool car but man o man every time I read about it, they really lucked out that there was no drag portion. First-no cage prevents them from a time below 13.99 and then the roll bar is 1 1/2" instead of 1 3/4" so technically it doesn't even qualify to drag race.

Well, they can't stop you from making one sub-13.99 pass. That is if they would let an open top rig run with only 1.5" roll bar, I'm not up on NHRA tech.

I believe there have been a few sandbaggers at past challenges that "ran it out the back door" for one smoker of a run after they dialed in their car and practiced their launch. . . .

The rules aren't limiting 60', or 1/8 times, just the whole 1340

Buuuuut, according to the challenge rules-you get the breakout number, not what you ran. I don't think they were far enough ahead in the autocross and concourse to take Andy's likely 10.5 or the hongs at low 13 or 12.

Edit-doesn't really matter though-that day, in those conditions, they brought the best overall car. Im just speculating.

I didn't realize they had addressed sandbaggers with sub-par safety gear.

The last time I read the rules was 2002, the last time I entered
