My circa 1985 Maytag SE1000 apartment size stacker washer and dryer are finally getting to the point where I don't wish to keep repairing them. They have been ridiculously long lived but I think it is time.

I have been offered a fully functional Asko T700 dryer and matching washer for an absolute song.

I had never heard of the brand and reviews are spotty. Is it even worth the effort to haul them 20 miles and set them up? Are they not as bad as the 4 reviews seem?

We had one in the house we rented prior to buying the current place. Unfortunately I can't remember the model numbers. I liked them a lot, they just seemed to work and were very high quality. Mind you, while they were a few years old they hadn't seen much use as they came out of someone's vacation rental.

Only reason we don't have them anymore is because my wife hated the European-style temperature setting in degrees Celsius instead of a settings like "cold, warm, hot".

If it's cheap enough to be throw away, go for it. Otherwise run. Very fast.
