My brother's team, the WestChester Rugby Club, needed a winger and I drove up from Philly to play. I was 18 and traded my brother's shirt for my opponents. What a thrill. Their finesse was beautiful to watch, especially their kicks. You played the All Blacks?! Whoa. And lived to tell about it?! Great highlight film here. Wallabies V. All Blacks 2000. Beats the hell out of watching the NFL imo.
Our B team actually won. Their A team won handily. Sitting in a Manhattan pub after the game with the All Blacks shirt on and hanging around with them - wow. Guess what I wore to school Monday!
We were undefeated for two years and played mostly against college and club teams as there weren't many teams around let alone high school teams. Thought we were pretty bad ass and then we went to Wales and took quite a beating, 2 for 4. They knew how to kick. They would run at you, kick over you, and often caught their own kicks. We'd never seen anything like it. While we were there we saw Wales play England in Cardiff. Those fans were down right scary.

You know, I don't remember it. I do remember my opponent winger was bigger than I felt was necessary....

Yeah. Whassup with that? All those guys have no necks. Just head shape lumps laying on their freakishly large shoulders. I want to make friends with them and then go start fights in bars. I'll be the one hiding under the table.
When I was young and in grade school in Montana, the only playground rule was no rugby. Should tell you something there.

Pretty sure Madonna's the pop star that Lady Gaga dude modelled himself after.

Aside from kicks, there are very few times when somebody is going to be looking upwards, leaving themselves unprotected. Ad in these two things: 1. More people on the field 2. aside from kicks as noted above, due to the dynamics of the game, the opposing tackler isn't going to be running full tilt at someone as often to lay a huge hit 3. The tackler still has to try and wrap on the tackle. You just can't throw your shoulder or head into someone and collide with them. Contrast that to the NFL, where none of those conditions are true. That said the worst injury I ever saw when playing rugby was a skull fracture from two people going after a loose ball on the ground. A helmet would have certainly helped with that.
That's awesome dude, except if you actually watched the links I put in, its not RUGBY either....sheesh
AFL or Australian Rules Football, and your argument now means nothing
Helmets are for motorsport not a game of ball.
