But really do you think he had a clue of how unlucky he was?  If 2020 hasn't killed you yet then his dumbass wouldn't have a chance.

You're secretly superman,  aren't you? I mean E36 M3, the last ten years have done their best attempts and you still give them the finger!

Damn I'd say so! You really deserve a vacation after everything this year's thrown at you. You should head down tonight & spend a few days here!

I think I'm up on my 9 lives.

I purchased stickers and a tee shirt from an outlet about 6 weeks I think that state "Berkeley this E36M3", I wasn't aware that upon purchasing that the world would take it as a challenge.

I really hope they apprehend the young man, not so that he's sentenced and doesn't see freedom until his 18th birthday at the earliest, but I'd like to speak with him about what he dreamt about doing as an adult when he was younger and who he looked up to or had to look up to.

Holy Bajesus, Batman!

Glad you are OK.

So, in my mind it goes like this:

You're at a stop sign. Kid comes up with a gun, points it at you, says "get out". Captain floors it, and kid grabs on in a Hollywood fueled rage . He's shaken side to side in a brief, yet eternal windshield wiper clasping struggle, until he finally rolls free, tumbling into a crouch and popping a couple off at the tank. Our anti-hero slinks off truly disappointed that the car didn't explode just like in the movies.

Once again, Captain, way to keep living.

Mostly unrelated: My Mom, sister and Uncle were robbed at gunpoint in Baltimore some years ago.

I'd gladly take some sleepy uneventful weekends rallycrossing with nothing breaking, no 2 wheel drama.

It sucks as I was less than 4 blocks away from one of the youngest, most creative and talented young brewers in the area's spot and now I'm gunshy (no pun intended) on heading down there, in the evening at least, for time being. Once the sternum has healed I'll be over it. Driving my way out of a situation is feasible, even if I have to shuffle hands at aggressive steering angle right now, where as close contact hand scuffling is not, and when a firearm is involved, let's be honest, it's never effective. I'm fortunate enough to be friends with our mayor elect, he reached out to me upon hearing out the incident. He honestly cares, but that's also privilege. I've spoken with the city's DA and her  husband, who's a state delegate (and who is former chair of the city council). There's a lot of issues at the ground level. We're fortunate enough in Baltimore they have a great rehabilitation nonprofit known as 2nd Chance. They provide job training for mostly convicted felons and job placement and directly employ them. This young man would greatly benefit from the life stories and experiences that most of these old heads have survived and learned from. They could serve as, if he's willing to have them be, mentors to him. Ideally if convicted or if part of a plea, I'd love for the young man to do a significant amount of service hours, we're talking a thousand plus, at second Chance. The issue is transportation for the young man to second Chance. That issue literally shows justification in the crime that he attempted to commit. That's an issue that we have in our city and it needs to be addressed.

I've been given multiple second chance opportunities at life, different circ and causation, but same end result.

There's a brewery owner in Wilmington, NC, who also owns several automotive shops and the untappd app. His brewery employs former gang members. We look at the choices people make, but never ask what their options were when they made said decision. We project perspective without learning their situation to know if an evaluation to provide an alternative solution was a feasible, viable option. Oftentimes if someone is making adulting decisions, in order to inform and educate, first one must listen.
