Have always liked the idea of awd in a full size van. I'm getting to the point where I actually need such a vehicle. I'm talking factory AWD full size Express/Savanna not the smaller Astro. Aside from less than stellar mpgs, is there anything mechanically speaking that is routinely an issue with these vans? I'm looking at two in particular both '09 models with the 5.3 engine. Both were fleet vehicles with regular maintenance said to have been done. Both around 150k miles. Thanks in advance for any insite good, bad or in between.

I've heard some wild claims of some of these getting as high as 22mpg highway, but in general I think they are more fuel efficient than the Econolines.

I have an 07 2wd express thats going to roll 420,000 tomorrow on untouched 5.3. The van is beat but otherwise still decent and not mechanically worn out yet. I'd hop into one at 150k and not have any hesitation if it were maintained regularly

I've looked into them and as far as I can tell they are stone reliable.

Given a reasonable price, I'd jump all over one of those. I've wanted one for a long time.
