Beds - mattresses, more specifically

It's kind of a funny thing, as beds are so subjective. And I have this one positive experience, so I'm really inclined to try to duplicate that. OTOH, I don't have enough info to just go out and buy exactly those bits (don't know the exact mattress or topper which were used).

I really am tempted to file the cost of going to Ashland for a weekend under the heading of buying a new mattress. Given the relative cost of the cheaper stuff which I apparently liked so well, we could probably fly down, stay in the same B&B two nights, catch at least one play, eat out, and still come out no worse than even with buying another upper-mid-level mattress...

And although it's a tangent, it kills me that the one piece of really nice furniture we've gotten is the bed. It's gorgeous, but it sucks to actually sleep in...

Dreamfoam on Amazon turned out to be right for me, and is super comfy. FYI since I started the thread.

Actually, I guess that is useful for me; if you like the Dreamfoam, it will feel like cast iron to me... Thanks!

Hehehe, I forgot about that. The guy makes them as stiff as you want. Ours is a compromise for my wife and I. You can get them softer. Since you and I will (probably) never share a bed, you can get what you want.
