I was hoping to see those on here. I'm going to get those next. I have these on right now: Nitto NT555's.

Yay, I was helpful!
Mmmm, direzzas on ti. I'd like some on mine.
the Direzzas are too good. When I was running the 050As.. I could at least get some wheel spin.. not with these on the car. She just sticks and sticks, and sticks, and sticks
how could we forget the classic Dunlop/Firestone/Hoosier chain-link tread pattern? For shame, for shame...

I read somewhere that those tires wont skid... Forgot where though...
My first "real" tires - not my pic. Mine were 205/55-15 for my zx2 s/r. Mine were mounted on Konig Helium rims.
Can't forget these as an iconic tread design either.

This was the one that popped into my head. Although I have owned about three others that were already listed on here...the Yoko Paradas, Yoko Advans. Kuhmo comes up with some pretty cool patterns as well.

We didn't, I already posted them!

The idea that a company could market a tire based on it's tread design, even going so far as to give it a catchy name, was pretty revolutionary back then. (Mid 80's) I even remember the first production car to wear them: Supra Turbo. )
I agree the Gatorback was an iconic design, but IIRC it was developed for the Corvette first, and the Supra followed:
From Goodyear's site: http://www.goodyear.com/corporate/history/history_byyear.html
Goodyear produced the first original equipment, 17-inch, Z-speed-rated performance tire, the Eagle ZR40 Gatorback, for the 1988 Chevrolet Corvette....
These treads have come in handy for me more than once, but you've gotta use all eight at once: Sadly, I have not yet figured out how to fit them on the Forester...

[cdn]Sorry[/cdn]
I know the ATB tires are a tangent, but it seems for a few of us they really seared an impression into our brains...
