Thanks, guys. It's been a tough day; I was in the garage clanging wrenches trying to forget and it didn't work. There are people I've known that I had less respect for than I had for him.
Basil, Binky was a shelter rescue too. I think the best thing we can do in his memory is go rescue another one but we just have to wait a little while, just need to let the emotions settle a bit. You are right, he can't be replaced but it's definitely possible to love another one, ya know?

Especially a rescue. Give it time to settle and you will know when it is right. You usually know the right cat when you meet them, too. Take your time and let it happen at its own pace. Our sympathy (4 cats' worth) again.

This. You know the personality right away. That's how we ended up with Catbutt. I wasn't in the mood for a 3rd cat, but then we saw Charlie, met him and was like, guess we have 3 cats now. You won't replace him, you never can. But you can always make room for another.

My condolences as well. Our house is full of fur, 6 dogs now, 4 cats. They annoy me on a daily basis and I can't imagine life without any of them.
So sad. I'm sorry for your loss, man. Especially being so sudden. In Binky's memory, I petted my 3 kittahs extra long tonight. They're family.
Aww, man, so sorry. We had a year of knowing that Trixie's little 16+ year old kidneys were about worn out, and it still was the worst thing ever when it was finally then end. I can't imagine it happening in a second like that.
You're in our thoughts.

Really sorry for your loss. For my wife and I our pets are our children and losing one is always hard.

I'm so sorry... I don't think there's any okay way for them to go. We had about a week from when we thought something might be wrong to Theo's last trip to the vet, and we sure as hell still weren't ready.
This is both heartbreaking and terrifying, because my girlfriend's cat (which I am taking care of for a few weeks) sometimes goes crazy in the same way.
Cats get a bad reputation for not being masculine or whatever, but they're really great animals. The first cat that I ever spent time with was almost all white, a lot like yours. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
Sorry to hear about your loss man.
I knew instantly which of a pile of kittens was the right one. I picked up a couple and they squirmed. Then I picked up Yvette (named after my late French grandmother) and she immediately started purring and finally fell asleep in my palm, which she was no bigger than. Poor thing had every kind of worm, including ringworm. Was a super hassle, but now she's part of the family. Well, everyone except the other cat have accepted her. She'll come around.
That is awful man, I'm sorry I shudder to think about losing one of our four legged furballs. Rescues are definitely the way to go, that's where both of ours came from.
My sympathies to you and your family. I just brought my two 16 year old furballs onto the bed. I dread the day(s) when they leave.
Rest assured that you provided Binky with a great life. Strength to you.
Aw man how terrible for him to die in such a bizarre way, I have a cat that has the same "running fits" at least once a day.
RIP Binky
Sucks man. I'm sure that cat lived a great life with you though. RIP.
