I recently posted about looking for a basic laptop and the subject of bloatware came up. I intend using the computer for storing/organizing pictures, hooking up to a borescope and maybe using something like HP Tuners in the future so there's probably not a whole lot of software required to do that.
The problem is I'm not that computer savvy so how do I know what the computer needs to operate and what can be removed? Any good advice or guides to removing bloatware?
thanks

So you can do it just by uninstalling it all as it is installed (which it will do every time you get an update)

Or, you can use scripts and such to do this semi-automatically. For this method you need to be a little computer savvy

Not to sound overly cynical, but a decade or two ago, you bought a computer and the OS enabled your software to work with your hardware, and your computer was a somewhat useful tool. In 2021, the job of the OS is to use your hardware and software to ensure that large corporations can track your behavior and market to you. Usefulness is not assured, and generally available only to those willing to pay a substantial upcharge.
Thanks, that was helpful. Is it reasonable to assume that if a program isn't listed on those links that it should be kept?
