What type of "body-guard" are you thinking of???

Entry-level celebrity-type stuff, just get your concealed-carry taken care of, and become friends with whatever up-and-coming rapper/diva happens to be in your area.

A "legitimate" job in this field can be a bit more difficult. A good friend of mine is Regional Operations Officer for the largest security company in the world. Mostly large-event security, (like the Olympics) and corporate security.

Basically, requirements are either previous military and/or law-enforcement experience, as a minimum.

Bonus points if you played hockey as a defenseman ar at pretty high level... Seriously.

Not sure what your backround is but I'd think there still are private security contractors looking for men overseas. There may be an age limit? High pay but definitely not safe and you could be gone for up to a year or more.

There are a few ex and current pro wrestlers that once were body guards ie: Brodis Clay, Jesse Ventura, etc. Going from memory some viewed the bodyguarding as a stepping stone to other things.

It may not pay what you'd like but driving an armored truck has its moments. Ask me how I know

If I was in your shoes and I could stay above water financially I'd get into professional racing of some sort.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

You are aware that security work is long boring days of searing boredom punctuated with moments of abstract terror

That would look good on a T-shirt.

It was not a happy Christmas day to see my car missing. Still not happy about it. Who has your car towed on, Christmas Eve! So on Christmas day you have no car and the place that has you car is closed, for Christmas!

My Landloard is no douche. He is more like, an ice cold enema!

Around here you need your law enforcement card for actual bodyguard work although I have a customer who's daddy is a high ranking officer and he's too much of a E36 M3head to be a cop, so he does bodyguard work. Looks like he does well for himself. You'd be best working for a company or getting involved with politics first. It's not an easy job to get into. How desperate are you for a job and how much are you looking to make?

Side note: To me, your logo looks like a man in a wheelchair going real fast. Combined with "Can Do", it seems to say, "don't think this disability will hold me back!"
Is this the intended message or am I reading this wrong?

"you need your law enforcement card for actual bodyguard work" Its he same in TX you don't have to be a public servant, to be in law enforement. I will have to work fo a company. There may be some that are willing to let anyone go to work. Most won't you to have been a public servant or military. I have none of those. I did grow up in South Central Los Angeles. On Blackwelder St. That with some training Ill make a grate bodygard.

I need the money to pay for android app development. And my trip to the Challange. From El Paso TX I will need $3k plus the car. So less than a movie star, more than the fry guy. ???? $40K ????

I did not think anyone woud get it. But you did!

I have a wheelchair but its a toy, my disability is not walking. At times I wish it were. Dyslexia has no Ez fix.

It sucks that your car was towed on Christmas Eve.

I can just imagine the look on the tow driver's face when he realized he was towing a Yugo.

Need 40k, huh. That makes it hard. Myself and another on this board may have been a good hookup. You're in Texas, I hear the border patrol is hiring. My company also contracts for them, but I'd suggest becoming part of homeland security.

Dyslexia shouldn't be a problem. A family member has dyslexia, and was in the Coast Guard, had no problems. Them again, he is also a genius (literally).

Why bodyguard? Private investigator may be an easier way to go. Beige Camry, Zoom lens, coupla Red bulls and your in business. may need a license tho.

In reply to TRoglodyte: It looks like you have to have a Law related degree in TX to get a lince. But I can work for a company. Im wating the next training class to start for the P.I. training. The Lince will take some time. Im looking for things I can do in less than a year. My wifes job will be sending us some plaec new in ??? 18mo. Bodyguard training would give me more training to use in fugitive recovery.( J.P. TheBounty Hunter)

Fugitive recovery is exciting, but dangerous. Be sure to practice quick draw, double-tap shooting. I have some good friends in that business. If circumstances are different, I'd hear in the same direction, but I'm working on something right now.

Look up Terry Vinson over in Los Fresnos, Texas. He runs a training school that contracts with private military, security and body guard companies.

Maybe he just assumed it was broken down and was trying to help?
