Ehh, this one was sitting in the gun library at my Cabelas 'used' but completely devoid of any oil or powder residue on the mag followers(yellow). I actually got it for under it's 1299 msrp out the door, and it has the code for the free optic plate, case, and 3 mags.
Had I not chanced upon this one, I probably would have had to wait 2-3months minimum to get one ordered in.
I'll drag out the steel tomorrow and get some testing done comparing it to my Hudson, CZ's, and my Steyr M9.

That's amazing to find a DD H9 'used' already.  I didn't even know they were generally available yet.  Interested to hear how it shoots.

I really would like to find something in leather for the Smith I still have. No one makes 3rd gen smith holsters anymore, especially single stack .45 smith 3rd gen. Probably have to have it custom made. I don't want kydex for it because I don't want it scratched. THe holster is more of a protector for it than to actually carry.

This thread is a few years old, but there's some contact info for a guy making 3rd gen leather.

Also, apologies it's my first time using the photo upload on here and it's a bit wonky.

You can drag and drop images from a file into the area you type into if that helps.  Or Copy an image and past it into the text box is another way to do it.

Saw a good sale on Midway on a safariland OWB. Monday I'll go to my credit union and see about issuing a chargeback.

Yea, I was shocked as well. Only a handful of stores even got launch guns and it was a surprise announcement they were even launched. DD knows how to keep quiet.

As far as range report, I put 45rds through the DD, and a 15rd group each for the Hudson and Steyr M9 at 25yds. The DD's irons are on, being new or almost new, the trigger on it is likely being very unforgiving to me as the lateral dispersion was a a bit over 4in. My Hudson was that way when new, so not that surprising.
I didn't realize it at first, but all three pistols I took out have different theories on iron sights. Steyr is a fairly common 6 o'clock hold, the Hudson is a 12 o'clock smother, and the DD is pretty much a dead on aim. All three displayed similar traits on recoil mitigation though, as they are all very smooth.

Depending on the phone you can press and hold on the picture in your photo gallery on your phone and it should come up with an option to copy.  You can then go into the forum and touch and hold where you type and you should get the paste option and that'll put that directly into your post.

There's the internal differences, still similar in layout but a lot different with the barrel and recoil system. They do behave similarly, so that's a plus.

This is kinda funny because I'm currently lusting after a gun worth about 7 times this but I'm a huge fan of guns for specific purposes so...

I wanted a truck gun, it needs to be able to be not always kept in the nicest environment, a caliber that can be used well for 2 legged and 4 legged, and not spendy would be nice since its gonna get almost no niceness thrown it's way. I've used revolvers in the past for this but I usually load it for bear( pun intended) which would suck for like cougars or other thin-skinned things. I know people hate truck guns, but it's a necessity when you are working in the deep woods.

So enter the Hi Point JXP10. It's ridiculous looking, massive and somehow also comes with threaded barrel. It's a 10mm which means we are a mag change away from whatever threat I'm facing. It's made of primarily zinc and polymer so it doesn't rust. It's so ugly that if you didn't know it was a gun you'd probably think it's a power tool of some sort.

But so far it's very very accurate and mostly reliable in it's break in period. It hates PMC fmj but everything else feeds well and it's actually somehow comfortable to hold. I have a 40 version from years past that I bought on a lark and is.....meh but this is waayyyy better overall.

It's not a gun that you'll show off but it's a tool for a good usage and I kinda like that a totally Made in the USA gun brand is cheap enough that it is affordable for everyone, it's a good thing .

I shot a M&P 2.0 compact today and I will be getting rid of my 365xl as soon as possible. It is everything that the 365xl could/should have been.

For carrying, or shooting?  The M&P is definitely going to shoot better, but it's quite a bit more bulky for carrying, and 1/2 pound heavier.  Have you tried a Wilson grip frame on the P365?  It makes a pretty big difference without adding a lot of bulk.

In reply to Rodan :

Ya but it is smaller and lighter than my VP9 and my CZ75d compact that I currently use. I have stopped using the 365 due to it braking two optics. Hollosun said it was the gun that was braking their  optics.

It is just a poor shooting pistol. It is most likely me but why keep something I don't like?  My big stumpy hands don't do small well at all and I am not going to carry somthing that I am not 100 percent sure where the bullets are going.

I get it.  Confidence in your equipment is a big part of the picture, and no one gun works for everyone.  You and I are proof of that... the P365XL doesn't work for you, and for me it's the best shooting 'small' gun I've ever shot.  cheeky

I am surprised you're having issues with optics on it.  Were they both Holosuns?  507K?  I've got 507Ks on my P365XL and P365X and never had any issues.  The X has ~500rnds through it and the XL probably double that.

I really think there is something up with either the fitment of the barrel and or it has to soft a recoil spring that is letting the slide slam back to hard and knocking the emitters out of there mount. I have tried other 365xl and I can shoot them well enough that I would carry it. I still don't like the grip but I can work around it. It is the randomness of the accuracy with irons and it braking 507kx2 RDO that has me being just done with it.  I try and shoot it a couple times a month just to see if it is me needing practice with it but at this point I have put enough amo through it that I could have just purchased another pistol instead of wasting the amo.

Small pistols usually suck to practice with, which is why I pretty much run only duty & full size now. Some people can't conceal those though, so I understand people choosing small stuff.

completely different comparison here, but shot my Shield (1.0, old carry piece) and my new 365 (plain jane, nothing fancy) back to back.  Holy crap, triggers are night and day difference M&P to Sig...Sig all the way.  Also shot with the laser on...it's practically cheating.

With that said, I have heard that the triggers on M&P 2.0s are WAY better but it was unbelievable to compare them.

Yes the triggers on the 2.0 is really really good.  That was the first thing I noticed about it.  It also was very flat shooting.

I also got rid of a Shield 1.0 when I bought my P365.  The Shield has terrible ergonomics.  M&P Compact is a completely different platform.
