Next stop in the travel nursing merry go round is Brooksville, FL.
I know it's about a hour north of Tampa. I have friend who worked at the same hospital and is hooking me up with some needed places to stay.
What say ye old wise GRM?

I looked it up on the map and noticed it is 1.5 hours from The Challenge. Will you be there that weekend? Thurs Oct 21 to 23?
Not much learnin to be done. Used to be a really small town, suburbia is growing out that way so some new chain spots and decent retail. Center-ish of the state, so not a lot going on. Ocala national forest is a nice drive. If you road bike there is a terrific, long bike path nearby. Airport was used for a lot of autocross clubs but you always had to be on the list since it was an active site. Contractor came in to park planes so most of the racing is in the past unfortunately.
You'll want to get a Sunpass for the tolls, sold at Publix. The Suncoast Parkway is a straight shot down into Tampa.

Already have one from the one failed contract down near Miami.

I'm just there for the cash and snowbird weather... then I can go out and buy more E36 M3boxes.
The Firm, in Starke, isn't a terrible drive from there. They host track days almost every weekend and some of the coolest rallyx events you'll find. Nitro rallyx is also racing there in December.
Brooksville is always the "coldest spot" on our local weather maps in Tampa Bay so you will still run into winter. Might not be the winter you're are used to but it may get down to freezing a few times if you are there through Feb.

Not a lot more to say than that, honestly. Get ready to deal with rednecks, cause that area is full of them.
Plenty of us GRM'ers in Tampa and surrounding areas to have beers with?
Grandmother, Mom, and oldest bro lived there for a while. Visited a number of times. Lots of old people.

Old people? No E36 M3? Lol it's "gods waiting room" for a reason.
You'll need to log in to post.
