I've seen multiple dealerships swap tires like that around so it as on the inside on used cars.

^Yep^

Especially on my wife's car.

You've got a tire with known damage that could become a failure any minute.

What's so unsafe about a donut?

I never bent a wheel on a pothole in my life until this year. I bent two on the front of the Fiat. I'm not allowed to drive it anymore.

For those of you following along at home...
Good rear tire moved to front.
Good spare moved to rear.
Bad tire moved to trunk.

Mid project:

Further inspection of rims shows no bend, just rubber mark onto rim. No real "rash" either, just rubber.

It was warmer than usual here today at 40 degrees and I know psi fluctuates with temp but the spare was only showing 35 psi. Corrected to the designated 60psi.

Those pesky "rim savers" always leave those black marks......better than chipped/scratched wheels.
