There isn't that much Rover left apart from parts of the body. I've got one of the issues somewhere that describes what's underneath it - a lot of it is custom fabricated.
The engine is an N/A (tank) version of the RR Merlin aircraft engine with a stupidly low redline, so he had to use a special bus gearbox to gear up the crank rpm to something that the gearbox itself would recognise.
