Women like their cars small, inexpensive, foreign and hot. No, not hot in the muscular looks, twin-turbo powerplant, and growling exhaust note sense. Actually hot. They like to crank the heater up.
That's the conclusion of a pair of new surveys on women and cars.
That only proves that women who are not wily enough to get out of taking surveys like those cars.
The most telling part of the whole article:
They Don't Want Men to Drive What They Drive
So, should straight guys unlucky in love buy a bug? TrueCar.com's results don't address that question, but there are plenty of reasons to believe that a practical, inexpensive small car may be what women want for themselves...but not in their dates.
Last year, University of Wales researchers asked women to judge the attractiveness of men when shown a photo, and told what car each man drove. The result? Women find the same man more attractive when told he drives a more expensive car. When the genders were reversed, men showed no tendency to find women more or less attractive based on the car they drive.
So yes, she wants a small, reasonably-priced foreign car, and she wants it warm. But don't drive one if you want her attention.
Blue Triumph Spitfire. They're attracted to it like flies to a bugzapper.

What a load of crap.
I had guys follow me around town when I was driving the R8, one even yelled "I wanna have your baby". Do you think that happens in my 323? Not.

LOL
I find a woman in an enthusiast car to be a total turn-on. Women on sport bikes are hot too. New Beatles and V6 newer Mustangs are generally turn-offs.
it seems as if newer Minis are pretty universally accepted as being cool, regardless of gender or level of insanity---er I mean how much of an enthusiast you are

Not seeing a total tool douchbag guy at the wheel of an R8 was such a shock. Followed by a gorgeous woman piloting it made them smile. Followed by a woman who obviously knew how to drive said car made keeping their own ride on the road a supreme struggle. Yeah, I appreciate a good looking woman in any car. But car guys will knock down their own friends and family to get to a car girl in a sports car driving it properly.
Calling bullE36 M3. My cars are all small, inexpensive, foreign, and hot as in temperature, but are notorious woman-repellers.
EDIT: Oh wait I think I've found the problem:

I must disagree with this:
When the genders were reversed, men showed no tendency to find women more or less attractive based on the car they drive.
My Ex wanted a convertible. She didn't care which, it could have been a 72 Caddy or a brand new Miata.
The problem is as GRMers we generally are attracted to small, cheap, ratty vehicles that hide their performance potential.
Women like cars that flaunt wealth and performance, even if they owners don't have either.

I prefer station wagons, and 4 door hatchbacks. For some odd reason, I was single til I was 26.

Any woman who would be attracted to me because of the car I drive would not be the kind of women I'd be interested in. I've held that opinion for some time now, and the cars I've driven support my assumption.
My wife liked a '69 Olds with a 455 cubic inch big block V8, drop top and dual exhausts.
Hell. Yeah.
Of course I drive a beat-to-hell Pontiac Sunfire every day (her old car). And when we were dating I alternated between picking her up in my beater pickup, my Hot Rod Lincoln Mark VII, and my pimp mobile convertible '69 Olds. I once had my beater pickup valet parked at a fancy restaurant downtown. The poor valet had a hell of a time parking it and stalled it twice bringing it up the ramp. My wife loved the dinner and had no problem getting in the pickup while wearing a smoking hot outfit. Darn that stick shift transmission for the ride home though.
Mrs. BDT loves Ramblers, don't ask me why.
Otherwise, she has about zero interest in cars.

That doesn't mean they found you less attractive in the 323
Old guys in British sports cars turn most women off like a light switch. I'd probably have better luck in the Trooper. Oh, wait: not expensive enough.
I know I'm not the typical female, but for me it's really big trucks. I'm talkin' REALLY big.

From all the construction documentaries I've seen, the overwhelming majority of mega dump truck drivers seem to be women.
Hmmm...maybe I have a new career direction to ponder...

Michelin makes tires for those big bad boys. They've got one on display in front of their S. Carolina plant - the thing towered over our bus.
