Pergo might be outside the budget.

Did just see I can buy concrete grinding cups for my hand held grinders at the hardware store. Some interestingly good reviews on how well they work, including some against the big floor grinders. Hmm. I'd hate to try leveling that way, but knocking the high spots and ridges off might work.

Im just using a big old área rug I use to have in my living room. Makes my garage feel "homey" lol. Our midwest seasonal temperature changes are very hard on garage floors. If you are going the Griots garage route you have waay too much time and money on your hands lol.

You're imagining far too pretty. This is...special. Lots of beer and serious inexperience were involved. I'm not good, but I bet even I could do better.

The swirl marks look a whole lot like they were done with bare hands, reaching over from the sides of the form.

Just how fancy does a floor for chickens need to be? And you mention the beer involvement like it's A Bad Thing.
