Ah, I thought you said in the other thread you were 12 hours away, guess you meant 12 classes?
12 credits, counting my current Fall enrollment obligations - so once I'm enrolled for spring 2014 the path is set and I just have to follow it.
I should add that my final semester in the spring will likely not be compatible with a conventional job schedule like I currently have (it's miraculous that I've made it work this long) so I will almost definitely have to find SOMETHING by then.

Do you work for a company that has a name similar to SIF?

Nope, US division of a Swiss company, rhymes with "burn".

It is my opinion that your journalism degree will get you a salary very similar to your own. If you want to get into PR or marketing, you've got to get in early.
Here's what I don't like about journalism: anyone can do it. Engineers become engineering journalist. Race car drivers become auto journalists. IT guys become tech journalists.
Maybe the folks from the mag can correct me, but it seems like the money, or at least the living-wage in journalism is in editing and well...marketing.
Your girl has got a cool job, no doubt, but how long has she worked there and can she used that experience to get another job?
Marketing is big right now. Has some of the lowest ROI of any degree. The average marketing degree holder pays off their student loan debt in 3.5 years or something.
So with that, I'd suggest thinking about how your using money, savings, and time.
being willing to travel basically will let you set your demands...
In reply to PHeller:
If I could do it all over again I would have gone for Marketing from the beginning. Unfortunately it would have meant basically starting over when I went back so I chose to finish the Journalism path that was already halfway there; at least it's a focus on advertising & public relations instead of just print reporting or something. I have also studied some business, was going for the minor but then would have had to take business calc and spend an extra year in school...ugh.
I guess there's always an MBA option a few years down the road if it comes to that.
