Ok anyone got any suggestions for good wines under $10. A red and a white.
Boones farm.
Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? Two-Buck-Chuck is decent according to my parents. They also like Concho Y Toro and Yellow Tail? I think it is.
The $2Chucks reds are better than the whites, imho. My local wine warehouse sells Ballatore for $6.50 - it's a fantastic sparkling wine to have with dessert, so we always bring a cold bottle to dinner parties.
I plus one's mtn's post about "Charles Shaw," aka, "two buck chuck." It's really more like 3 or 4 buck chuck, but you can get BOTH bottles for under 10 bucks, and it ain't bad...ain't bad at all.
Beware, you WILL need a bottle opener/corkscrew.
"Charles Shaw, lawnmower wine."
"Charle's Shaw, it's what wine snobs drink when they're not snobbing."

It's not bad. Had a tasting there a few months ago. Big winery, but seem to put out decent wines.
My wife and I like Smoking Loon quite a bit. It is usually less than $10 per bottle at the grocery store.
+1 on the Smoking Loon cab or merlot. Good and inexpensive, pretty robust though. Not very subtle.
I also like Bon Terra organic wines (chard) They may be a bit more than $10, but not much more.
One of my favs under $20 is "Big Ass Cab." But it's usually around $15-16 so a bit more than you want to spend.
On that note, I think I'm going to go pick up a 4 pack of Sam Adams Imperial Stout.
If you've got a Trader Joe's nearby, I'm a huge fan of their Honey Moon Viognier (white).
I think Bogle Petit Sirah is about $10, and is great.
I'm also a fan of Malbec. Almost uniformly Malbec is a good value. You can typically find one for around $10, and it'll be on par with a $15-$25 bottle of pretty much any other red.

A ROAST! I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A ROAST!
Make sure not to invite Gail the Snail!
I think this wine is pretty good and it's reasonably priced, around $10/bottle - you can probably find it for less on sale. http://www.redtruckwine.com/redtruck/index.jsp They have a neat logo on their label, too.
You'll need to log in to post.
