I joined the Windy City Z Club a year ago and an email came over stating we can get a Media Day Pass the day before it opens (today) and go on the MotorWeek tour.
Now I've walked this show since the mid -1970's so I figured; why not? Maybe it's some lame intro he does then JD goes back to a hotel suite or exclusive conference area.
Now this guy is 76 years old and walked us around Chicago's McCormick Place for close to three hours. He talked and answered questions the entire time.
Really a personable and knowledgeable guy and his sidekick was even more knowledgeable. I guess I need to watch the show more often......

Good to hear hes a nice guy. Whos the side kick? I'd imagine someone is being prepped to take over when JD retires. Been a fan of the show since the beginning.

See? I'm not old. When i was pre-school, I used to watch Motorweek every Saturday after going grocery shopping with my grandparents. He's only 76.
Also, I think they had a buddy with a Peugeot dealership because I swear every other week they were testing a Peugeot.

I had a friend who was in the media business and tried his best to get a career doing what Jon Davis does. He found Davis' delivery annoying.
But Davis had the job and he didn't, so...
I also liked Craig Singhaus. He would do the occasional local hill climb and is a true car guy. I was also a big fan of the tech guy, Pat Goss, who sadly passed away not long ago.
MW shows most of their old car reviews on YouTube. It's pretty fun watching them now and knowing how awful some of those cars actually were.
