Wait, that doesn't make sense. Anyway, yesterday Copper Bottom Craft Distillery had their ribbon cutting ceremony. They're located about 5 minutes south of GRM World HQ. Their COO knows us and used to own a Miata. Very nice people. Cool building, too. (It used to be a Laundromat; I did my laundry there a million years ago.)
Right now they're offering a silver rum, with vodka available soon followed by other rums and spirits. The rum, by the way, is delish.
Here are some of my photos from last night.
It's all made on-site.

Cool tasting area, too. (I had to wait for the crowd to leave before getting this shot.)

They're on Facebook, too.
Wow, that looks like a giant flute.
I toured the CopperCraft Distillery in Holland, MI a couple of years ago. I'm not a big hard liquor guy, but I was with my BIL, who is into whiskey. It was pretty damn interesting, the equipment that goes into it is very impressive. It's a cool combination of technology and art.
And for those who prefer beer, a few miles north of GRM World HQ we have Ormond Brewing Company. They are located literally (yes, I just used that word) across the street from the previous GRM World HQ--like, if you didn't stop while leaving their driveway, you'd plow right into my old office.

Might have to check them out the next time we're visiting the inlaws in Deland. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm also not really into hard stuff, but distilleries are cool. I've been to Finger Lakes Distillery up near Watkins Glen a number of times. They makes some awesome liqueurs I've bought as well as various rum, vodka and whisky products. The tasting/sales room has a window into the distilling room. The distilling column is giant. The whole process is cool and reminds me of some of the pharma and chemical process projects I've worked on.
Now we know what next years challenge prizes are :)
Seriously you should see about a special GRM or co-labelled batch for prizes, or even to sell to us hopeless geeks who would buy it.
A lot of that looks remarkably like Ann Arbor Distilling which we are big fans of.

Now partner with them to build a grassroots vintage moonshine runner that runs off the same hooch.

Tiny little trophies where the cup portion is a 1 1/2oz shot.
