George S. Patton was assassinated by the Russians, since he was the only U.S. military commander they feared and he was quite boisterous about his desire to fight the Russians "next" after WWII.

Everyone knows Truman ordered the hit..

She didn't need to pull the trigger herself.  Just being married to that thing would be enough to make anyone suicidal.

My children just reminded me of a couple:

- Chuck-E-Cheese pizza “recycles” it’s pizza.  Employees collect uneaten pizza slices, return them to the kitchen, assemble them into a new pizza, and serve them again.

"Food recycler" was a girlfriend's sister's job description at a once-popular(ish) restaurant named after a crustacean.  She quit after her first shift.

I can disprove this one. I spent a few months working for charles entertainment cheese. Fact of the matter is, they pay us so bad, leftovers mean some of us get dinner that night. Also, I never reassembled a pizza, and I spent time in the kitchen.

how much are they paying you to keep your mouth shut?

Jar Jar binks is a sith.

All indications are that he was meant to be the Yoda of the dark side, coming out in a big twist in Ep3, but people were so fed up with this stupid character that they brought out Dooku to take his place. So yeah, in ep1/2, I think Jar Jar Binks IS a Sith lord. Then they dropped that storyline in Ep3 and he's just a doofus. Kind of a shame, it would've been a helluva twist that could've made the prequels...less bad.

And Mr. Lucas has repeatedly said the Jar Jar was his favorite character, almost as if he knows something about Jar Jar that nobody else knows...

Maybe... but a YouTube guitarist I follow did some work with her professionally and while he generally keeps personal relationships with well-known artists confidential, he has mentioned she wasn't bad to work with

Well this one is new today:

The US Government was covering up what happened to the USS Serpens when it was pretty much vaporized by an explosion off Guadalcanal in January of 1945.

The Pentagon claims it was an ammo explosion but rumors persist that it was a Japanese submarine and it was covered up to prevent evidence of continued supply line raiding similar that of the USS Eagle-2 off the coast of Maine thousands of miles from the frontlines.

I heard one recently about some chump up in the northeast who people claim invented, built and flew a plane a couple years before the Wright Brothers, but didn't get credit for it because the Smithsonian conspired against him.

Read about Yeager and Welch.  Yeager was the first to break the sound barrier in level flight, but Welch did it a few days earlier in a dive.

Supposedly, Welch gave Yeager a sonic boom as he was on his way to his "record" run too.

Yeah, that sentence is about par for Jalopnik.

I don't go there for their reporting though. I suspect I go there for the same reason my wife reads TMZ articles about people I've never heard of.

Foxtrot Alpha is often very wrong about my previous employer but I don't bother to correct them. Mainly because I don't like being arrested.

They pay him in reassembled pizza.  I read about it right here on the internet so I know it's true.

Hollow earth has been mentioned, but I don't remember it being said it was comprised of nazi's.

Here's one that sounds too insane, compared to some already debunked theories, but turned out to be real.

The CIA secretly bankrolled Jackson Pollock to undermine Communism. This was a propaganda campaign to produce art so incomprehensible that viewers would think it couldn't possibly be propaganda.

Meanwhile, the Soviets were churning out paintings like these:

The end goal was to convince the European art community that Communism was bad because it ruined artists' creative freedom.

(More coverage of this conspiracy here).

^Similar topic: Have you ever heard the writing advice "show, don't tell?" Seems like a rather broad and arbitrary rule doesn't it? Well it was a clever bit of Western propaganda made up to make writing social critiques more difficult:
