I'll watch fast-n-loud if I am flipping through the channels. Now I know they have names. I have been referring to them as little beard who owns the place and big beard who knows how to fix things.

I watched a couple of episodes at the Dentist' while getting three fillings. It was entertaining enough to pass the time.
I don't mind "Counting Cars".
BUT>>>
ANYTHING is better than "KING OF CARS". That show made me have even more contempt for car salespeople than I already had..
When I saw "KING OF CARS".. It oozed complete sleaze!!!
"KING OF CARS" is the Hepatitis of T.V. car related shows!!!
Joe Gearin wrote: While I'm grateful for any automotive related TV I've got a feeling the lead guy on Fast & Loud spends a lot more time in front of the mirror than his wife does. I like Danny more on Pawn Stars than I do on Counting Cars. Of course I'm addicted to Pawn Stars so that may not count.
Wife? You mean the goofy little guy with the beard?
I like his Cabover. But why is he on the History Channel? I expect, you know; history. I get this guy, swamp rats, antique hunters and a restoration guy with a bratty teenager.
Woody wrote: *The Car Chasers* on CNBC is by far the best of the bunch. At least most of the people on the show are likeable. In fact, the show earns it's own thread since it deserves better than being lumped in with these guys.
i think the guy is a total bag. he flat out lies to people to get the price down. like the yellow 31 coupe i saw him ragging on the guy saying "oh i'll have to change X Y and Z so i can drive it" like he was not trying to do a quick flip.
they all play the BS "i've got more in it than that" game even though they are spelling the costs out for you in the show.
out of the lot i prefer fast n loud. i would enjoy hanging out with those guys. plus their trips to the upholstery shop make it better, i love sue.
In fnl the main guy seems to always talk about how they about to go broke yet I looked him up on the interwebs and he has done well. According to what I saw he is worth about 8 million.
I do like the show. That said having them rebuild a Ferrari seems like a bad idea. It should go to the guy in Chasing Classic Cars.

I'm in the same boat, I want his cabover......but just like you, I want my history back. Everything on there can go to hell.
To be honest, Pawn Stars is worse than Counting Cars. Granted, there is a similar amount of bs from both shows.
In reply to yamaha:
I think part of the problem is that History is trying to profit off of Pawn Star's success on the network.
American Pickers and American Restoration make sense, but Counting Cars, all the shooting shows, Chasing Tail, etc., don't really have a place on History.
I've been waiting for a show based at a railroad museum, but I doubt that will ever come along.

If it does I'm going to send in an application.

It was that way for awhile......I never see modern marvels on anymore. :(
Its just the "reality" shows or tin foil hat ghost/alien hunters these days
fasted58 wrote: Remember when The History Channel was the Hitler Channel? ... maybe they played that out.
No money in that apparently.
I was unfortunate enough to run across "Chasing Tails" the other day.
That may be the most contrived, asinine, waste of TV time I've ever seen. Ok, Honey Bo Boo may be worse.....maybe. So lacking in anything worthwhile.... total garbage.
I am a sucker for American Pickers though, and I can't watch Swamp People without cracking up.

+2 but I like em both. I almost always like the finished cars on both shows. Dont much care for the wild paint sometimes on counting cars but can appreciate the skill.
Wife likes both shows too so theres that.
I know it would never succeed but it'd be nice for these shows not to be full of scripted fluff. I can't stand to listen to the owner for gas monkey, its a combination of dumbing it down and his wannabe badass persona.
Fast & Loud isn't bad, but douchey McCoolguy's voice is nails on a chalkboard. I swear, he and Jason Lee have serious hearing problems. STOP SCREAMING AT ME!!!

I like both shows for different reasons. Last season, they were both putting out very nice looking cars on occasion, flamboyant cars most of the rest of the time.
This season (and this past season of FNL) they both really stepped their game up, and they both have shown some amazing cars.
I like FNL because of the actual work that they show, and the fact that some of it isn't scripted.
I like counting cars because I like Danny's personality (other than "brother" and in the wind, cliches which he uses entirely too much, but sort of pulls off)
He seems like a genuine person who loves cars and actually gets excited about the cars that he finds.
Richard on FNL is kind of a douche and it seems like the only thing going through his head no matter what the vehicle, is how much he can make on it.
That, and the fact that he's gotta do a burnout in it. I really don't think people who can't fix cars should be in the car fixin' business in any capacity, but they make it work
(and my opinion may be biased because, as a dealership mechanic, I have to deal with the people who don't know how E36 M3 works and what's involved, but, nonetheless, want it done yesterday)
overall I like em both though, was watching a recorded episode of count when I opened the thread lol

I've seen a show on my local PBS station about old trains - it seems to be a series but I haven't figured out if they show it regularly or not. It's a pretty low budget deal, I think it's produced by a PBS in West Virginia.
In reply to stuart in mn:
It's probably Tracks Ahead. It used to be a regular weekly show on PBS, but now it's rarely on.
Watched 'The Moment' last night, was hoping Kyle could land a ride w/ RCR. He didn't do bad at all considering. It was kinda nice to see some race content. I'll prolly watch the show again.

Yes, that's it. They seem to show it occasionally here on the weekends.

...but he has pretty damn good taste in cars. A lot of his stuff has a "newschool + 70's" flair that I think is killer.
I just watch it for the cars. The rest is so staged and bro'd out it's hard to stomach.
Fast N' Loud is just plain awesome.
The only car shows I'm really into are Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers. The latter is pretty close to what I imagine GRM TV would be like, aside from the British-ness. Top Gear is cool too, but I'm a little sick of the formula at this point.
Some of the other shows on are cool, but while I can appreciate muscle cars, hot rods, or lead sleds, they're not really my big thing so I don't really get into shows that only focus on them.
