...my thoughts on this where something along the lines of... at least the Kurt Cobain suicide people had a good excuse for killing themselves... they where high...
The cemetery where Michael Jackson will be laid to rest abuts our property. The city sent us all the info regarding this circus. They will cordon off our street as well as all the surrounding streets. We'll have to show ID to get to our own house. I don't know how long this will last. What I do know is, this is my 500th post and I am now a certified half-dork. Never have I been prouder. At this rate, I will reach full dork-dom in 2013.
Thank you to all the folks who made this day possible. Between the fires and the Jackson interment, Glendale is downtown Armageddon.

You need one more for it to go. Congratulations!

Today they posted the "Temporary No Parking" signs in our neighborhood. Anyone without a resident parking sticker will not be ticketed, they'll just be towed. They're preparing for this burial like the Battle of New Orleans in 1814.

MJ was apolitical, Ted was not.
MJ entertained more people across international boundaries than Ted.
IMHO, both received more adulation than deserved.
Life goes on and there are more relevant issues that need our attention.

BullE36 M3. A good Chappaquiddick joke carries more awesome than 20 Billie Jeans.

Gives me a flashback to when I was trying to get to work during the Olympics.
Of course, the difference being that the Olympics were actually so cool that we didn't dread it..
That dude needs a job writing. He said all the right words (and a few wrong ones, but they were oh so right).
Read in the paper today theat Oprah Winfrey is doin a one hour show on MJ. I'll have to stay home from work to see it....
Luckily I was working the whole day but there were more media trucks than I've ever seen in one place. Maybe 25 or 30 of them jammed into the three blocks in front of the cemetery. Evidently, the Jacksons were two hours late so the whole shebang didn't start until 8:30pm. By the time I got home at 10:30, there were crowds of people able to see nothing, plus a few sequined-jacket-types working the gathering. The cops were pretty easy-going so it was just a little bit of a work-around.
Hopefully, Jackson's fans get the word there is nothing to see. The mausoleum has 13 subterranean levels and is guarded like Fort Knox so no one will get a glimpse of anything. In contrast, Jimmy Stewart and his wife are buried in a very modest plot on a hill about 150 feet (as the crow flies) from my house.

What the hell are people going to think in a few thousand years when they find that...they'll think he was the king of the world or something.
On that note, if we didn't know any better we could postulate on whether the people buried in the pyramids of Egypt were their celebrities
