What is a phallas? Google comes up with a DS. He also misspelled the state he lives in.
"Pallas" was the top model of the big Citroen. It was a pun, like "DS", which is pronounced "Déesse" in French and means "goddess." Pallas sounds like "palace" for English-speakers but is also one of the names associated with the goddess Athena.
You just have to love a company that gives you wordplay, single-spoke steering wheels, swivelling headlights (in 1965!), AND cars that lift themselves up and down.
I read that as Phallus...like Ace and Gary's car...
For $10k you would think there should be pictures.

Me too, that's why I thought it was so funny. I knew right away what kind of car it was, but I certianly wouldn't buy a DS from someone who had no idea what it was called, at least for $10k.
I guess it's just me, but when I see an ad for a car that is more than 5...alright, 10 years old, I think it should have a picture or two. But then I also feel that when you sell ANYTHING on CL for more than $2000-$2,500 it needs pictures.
I see several CL ads in my area that say " RARE " but never a picture...and some that say "you should see this", but no picture.
There once was a girl named Alice...
Oops looks like it really was a shady ad!
