Ah, now....we can't go blaming the media's graphic representation of violence for the occurrence of violence....

Oh cool. I was going to go help my father in law do some work on one of his rental properties for the next 5 days. Nothing is in the house so I was wondering what we would do when we weren't fixing something. Guess we will probably go see this.
Played hockey last night. Went looking for food afterward. Only place open was the movie theatre so we said what the heck lets see Dark Knight. Simply amazing. As good as the Avengers but for totally different reasons. Mostly dark sinister ones. I got to bed at 3:30 am. If you go you wont be disappointed.
Theres a vintage drive in theater near me. Tune your radio in, and enjoy a double feature in the bedbug free, air conditioned comfort of your own vehicle (My G20 has 100 watt bose, and the Terrain has 8 speaker pioneer with a powered sub...so we cant go wrong in either one - bonus!). $7 a person admission, $5 lets you bring in as much food as you want (no brew ), or hit up their concession stand for the best nachos or deep fried pizza rolls youve ever had. This weekend is Dark Knight 3 and The New Spiderman. Ive already seen spidey, but who cares? Epic-drive-in-comic-fest-extravaganza FTMFW

Pretty freakin cool.
We have an old drive-in here but it never has any current movies playing.
They're playing it at the drive-in 5 minutes from here. Unfortunately 1-year-old plus drive-in does not compute :(

1 year old.................that explains your screen name.

whats really pretty sweet is that the radio station they use to broadcast the audio has signal strength sufficient to still pickup credits music a quarter mile away. Theres 4 or 5 homes across the street from the place with CLEAR view of 70' screen. One is for sale on 2 acres. It would add 20 min to my daily commute, but I seriously considered putting an offer on the place solely for the year round free movie tickets that come with it.

I expect that this guy enjoyed it...
I don't really get the fascination with the same old rehashed comic book superhero movies. I thought batman was ok in the 70's. I've been over him since then. Same with Spider man and the 300 other recycled superheros. Do they really have to remake the same movies every three years or so? I'll eventually watch it a year from now when it is on tv I guess, but there is no way I'd pay to go sit in a theater to see it - it just doesn't interest me in the least bit.
Well, Pride and Prejudice keeps getting remade too It's just the same basic story that gets retold, the [Bat/Spider/Super]man aspect is just the framework to hang an action movie on.
I'd like to go see it. It's tough to drag Janel out of the house to go see a movie, maybe it'll still be in theaters when I manage to do it...
Went to see Dark Night, we really enjoyed it. Granted we are sorta into the super hero movies. Not sure why, but we are.
As for Magic Mike I have been threatened with it repeatedly but have held out thus far. Hoping I can make it til it's out of theaters and then maybe the idea will die before it reaches DVD.
I typically see, maybe, one movie a year in a theater, so I may be the only one who doesn't 'get' the superhero movies. I just wanted to clarify so that folks don't think I go to every movie except superhero ones.

I fail to understand why people who have no interest in what the thread is about are compelled to post in it.
Movies are, like books, an escape for me. I like entering a new world, and leaving it again in under 3 hours. Besides, Dark Knight Rises was freaking awesome. Such an epic film.
If the ending is anything like what I've pieced together, I'll wait until it's in the $5 dollar bin, then ignore it.

What he said. Adam West is, and will always be the only Batman.
The 1960s TV show kicked ass. The overproduced Hollywood Batman movies don't deserve to smell Adam West's steaming feces.
