Dark Side of the Moon had an impact on my childhood. Not only this album, but Wish you were Here and The Wall. As a kid, every night I would fall asleep listening to music and my mom would come in after I fell asleep and would turn the stereo off before she went to bed. Dark Side and the other PF albums were my favorites to fall asleep with. In junior high school in the late 70's, once a week we had a reading lab where everyone had a cassette player and headphones in their cubicle. The assignment never took longer than 15 minutes or so. I would bring a cassette, usually Pink Floyd, and would listen to it for the remainder of the hour. On one occasion, I took a note home from the teacher to my parents saying I had disrupted class singing out loud to myself.
I even suffered through years of listening to my 8-track tape of The Wall, where in the middle of Comfortably Numb, it would pause and switch tracks. So annoying
Even today after listening to Dark Side probably hundreds of times, it still resonates with me.
